Chicago Premiere of THE HALF-LIFE OF MEMORY Set for Tonight at Storefront Theatre

Local playwright and actor Jason Lindner tells the story of a deteriorating former Manhattan Project physicist who has discovered that radioactive material can be extruded from his memory. Visits from his colorful colleagues and lost love will determine his fate and perhaps the fate of us all. The Half-Life of Memory, produced by Cold Basement Dramatics in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and directed by Co-Artistic Director Sophie Blumberg, will run from June 4 through June 29 at the Storefront Theater (66 E Randolph St) in The Loop.

For the second consecutive year actors from around the globe have joined Shakespeare & Company's Summer Training Institute through collaboration with Youth Bridge Global. Following in the footsteps of Ilija Pujic a Bosnian actor last year, three young actors from Kilgali, Rwanda, are at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA, to work with their American counterparts in this exciting program.

China's No. 1 film awards show will take place in Hollywood for the first time with leading talent accepting accolades based on the votes of 80 million fans. Halle Berry, Guillermo del Toro, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Renner, Charlie Hunnam and Hans Zimmer will accept key honors for their work at the Huading Film Awards at The Montalban Theater in Los Angeles on June 1st. In recognition of the 20 year anniversary of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, actor/writer Jay O. Sanders' play Unexplored Interior, directed by James Glossman, received an unprecedented presentation on Sunday, May 11 at the Museum of Jewish Heritage (www.mjhnyc.org). This first of its kind, technological and creative partnership with Google+, allowed the play to be seen in NYC and at the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center (www.kigaligenocidememorial.org) in Rwanda. South Coast Repertory's 2014-15 season moves from the Mediterranean island in Shakespeare's The Tempest to Cornwall in a new take on the classic Tristan & Yseult, from Mecca in Zealot by Theresa Rebeck to an updated look at the Land of Oz in OZ 2.5 by Catherine Trieschmann.
