Syfy's Wizard Wars set new series records during its Thursday, January 29 return, transfixing 1.68 million total viewers along with 714K Adults 18-49 and 782K Adults 25-54 based on L+3 data. Versus its series premiere on August 19, 2014, Wizard Wars increased 36 percent in total viewers, 13 percent among viewers 18-49 and 18 percent among viewers 25-54.

MARK TWAIN UNPLUGGED, the latest show at Act II Playhouse, wonderfully captures all these characteristics of Twain and brings him to life in this show. This production, which is like spending an evening with Twain in the form of a stop on his small town speaking circuit, beautifully captures the essence of Twain with a dialogue that is witty, passionate and clever.

Maine's Midcoast Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Rohan Smith presented a program of American composers, which included the rarely heard Symphony in E Minor by Amy Beach and music from George Chadwick's Symphonic Sketches, together with Ferde Grofe's well-known Grand Canyon Suite at Topsham's Orion Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, January 25, 2014. And while the audience most likely delighted in the last of these compositions, it was the Chadwick and Beach which gave the afternoon its primary merit.
