Joe's Pub at The Public is thrilled to announce a new showcase presented in association with Showtime Networks, called The SHOWTIME Salon Series, launching in May 2018. For nearly two decades, SHOWTIME and Joe's Pub have shared something significant: a commitment to producing and presenting groundbreaking programming that showcases and celebrates LGBTQ+ communities. SHOWTIME and Joe's Pub will present this yearlong initiative with monthly live shows that will feature artists ranging from Alan Cumming to Mx Justin Vivian Bond to Murray Hill to Ryan Raftery.

Ride the Cylcone, this season's dark and hilarious co-production between The 5th Avenue Theatre and ACT - A Contemporary Theatre, is now in preview performances and has its official opening night this Thursday, March 22 at ACT - A Contemporary Theatre. The award-winning director and choreographer Rachel Rockwell has continued to refine and explore the world of Ride the Cyclone with its writers Brooke Maxwell and Jacob Richmond, returning to direct after working on its two previous U.S. productions in Chicago and Off Broadway. This co-production, which is the eighth collaboration between The 5th and ACT, will showcase new developments to the script and score. At least one third of the script has been newly created for this production, which is in addition to countless small but crucial tweaks and refinements. These new developments have continued to define and shape the world that the Saint Cassian High School Chamber Choir inhabits onstage.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley presents the Tony Award-winning musical The Bridges of Madison County, based on the 1992 bestselling novel by Robert James Waller about love both lost and found. Set amidst the cornfields of Iowa in 1965, this passionate musical follows the unexpected affair of a devoted Italian-born housewife and a roving National Geographic photographer set over four sensual, heart-stirring days. Brilliantly adapted by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright Marsha Norman ('night Mother, The Secret Garden, The Color Purple) with music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade), it captured the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical Score. The Bridges of Madison County, directed by TheatreWorks Artistic Director and founder Robert Kelley will be presented April 4 - 29, 2018 (opening night: April 7) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St., Mountain View. Chicago Shakespeare announces today fourteen productions in the Theater's 2018/19 Season-encompassing the dynamic and diverse range of offerings which have come to characterize a company that defies theatrical category. The season features programming across Chicago Shakespeare's performance spaces-the Courtyard Theater, the theater Upstairs, The Yard, and even in the lobby's Pub-fully activating the Theater's vibrant and multifaceted campus on Navy Pier.

Riverside Art Museum Artist in Residence, Master storyteller Brenda Wong Aoki, and Emmy award winning composer Mark Izu, will conclude their 2018 Residency with a final performance, The People of the Tags, a work interacting with the Wendy Maruyama: E.O. 9066 exhibition on Saturday, March 17th at 1pm at the Riverside Art Museum

The original producers of Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber & Stoller, Broadway's longest running musical revue, announced today that the show will return to New York this summer following a limited engagement at Maine's Ogunquit Playhouse. Preview performances will begin at New York's Stage 42 (422 West 42nd Street) on July 6 and opening night is set for July 22. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, March 12 through telecharge.com and the box office will open on June 25. Casting is to be announced.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced its lineup of new releases for the 2018 spring season, featuring Arnaud Desplechin's Ismael's Ghosts, Lucrecia Martel's Zama, Claire Denis's Let the Sunshine In, and an exclusive run of Hong Sang-soo's The Day After, all NYFF55 selections; plus Sophie Fiennes's intimate documentary Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami and Carla Simón's Summer 1993, winner of the Best First Feature Award at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival. A Kid Like Jake, by Daniel Pearle, is Benchmark's second-season opener. Directed by Warren Sherrill, the engaging one-act examines modern parenting and how society can pressure children out of authenticity.

Wandsworth Arts Fringe launched its 2018 programme today with a rich array of shows and events to suit all ages, interests and tastes. During its nine-year history, South London's premiere arts festival has gone from strength to strength. This year is the biggest yet with the festival playing host to over 170 shows in over 55 venues across the borough from May 4 to 20. With an eclectic range of arts and culture, every conceivable space both indoor and outdoor will buzz with activity and creative endeavour.

Two world-class Grammy Award-winning artists, Elvis Costello and Angelique Kidjo join Patti Smith, Gruff Rhys, Passenger and Billy Bragg as headline music acts at this year's Festival of Voice (7-17 June, across Cardiff). Elvis Costello & The Imposters (17 June) will close this year's 11-day festival at Wales Millennium Centre, with the skilled wordsmith and unique vocalist covering everything from politics to love songs.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is proud to present Grammy nominated jazz pianist, vocalist and songwriter Judy Carmichael in 'Swing Time!' on Saturday, March 24 at 8 p.m., her first performance in a Jazz Inspired series that Carmichael has curated in partnership with Patchogue Theatre. Executive Director Gary Hygom approached Carmichael about bringing her NPR / Sirius-XM radio series Judy Carmichael's Jazz Inspired, now its eighteenth year, to the Main Stage.

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a three-week extension for Jerry Springer - The Opera, with Matt McGrath appearing as Jerry Springer beginning March 13.  Terrence Mann, currently appearing in the role of Jerry Springer, plays his final performance March 11 due to an existing commitment beyond that date.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Live Nation announced today that death-defying magician, David Blaine, is taking his mind-blowing show 'David Blaine Live' on the road this spring and summer with a new round of 36 North American tour dates. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will kick off May 6, 2018 in San Diego, CA and make stops in U.S. cities including Orlando at the Walt Disney Theater on June 11, 2018.
