IFC announced today the launch of a new original digital comedy series, Fortune Rookie, on the Comedy Crib (ifc.com/comedy-crib), the network's online hub for original, short-form comedy. Created by and starring Janet Varney (Stan Against Evil, You're the Worst), Fortune Rookie follows a fictionalized version of Janet Varney who, on the advice of a fortune teller in a bathroom, decides to leave showbiz behind and become a full-time psychic. Mayans M.C., the hit biker drama created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, has been renewed for a second season on FX, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. The second season will premiere on FX in 2019.

San Francisco Opera presents Richard Strauss' Arabella in five performances at the War Memorial Opera House from October 16 through November 3. Last performed by the Company 20 years ago, Arabella returns in Tim Albery's acclaimed production with leading Strauss interpreter Marc Albrecht, making his United States opera debut on the podium. The cast features soprano Ellie Dehn performing the title role for the first time, baritone Brian Mulligan in his role debut as Mandryka, soprano Heidi Stober as Zdenka, tenor Daniel Johansson in his first San Francisco Opera engagement as Matteo and Hye Jung Lee as the Fiakermilli.
