Chicago Magic Lounge, Chicago's new home for close-up magic, is proud to present Spotlight: Women in Magic, featuring some of the world's best professional magicians - who all happen to be women. Hosted by The Incredible Jan Rose, Spotlight: Women in Magic will feature magic by Lucy Darling (aka Carisa Hendrix) and close-up magician extraordinaire, Alba, with headliner (and first-time guest) Jade, the first woman to win the Gold Medal of Magic from the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Spotlight: Women in Magic will be presented as part of Chicago Magic Lounge's The Signature Show, for five performances, November 29 - December 1, 2018.

IFC announced today the launch of a new original digital comedy series, Fortune Rookie, on the Comedy Crib (ifc.com/comedy-crib), the network's online hub for original, short-form comedy. Created by and starring Janet Varney (Stan Against Evil, You're the Worst), Fortune Rookie follows a fictionalized version of Janet Varney who, on the advice of a fortune teller in a bathroom, decides to leave showbiz behind and become a full-time psychic. Mayans M.C., the hit biker drama created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, has been renewed for a second season on FX, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. The second season will premiere on FX in 2019.

San Francisco Opera presents Richard Strauss' Arabella in five performances at the War Memorial Opera House from October 16 through November 3. Last performed by the Company 20 years ago, Arabella returns in Tim Albery's acclaimed production with leading Strauss interpreter Marc Albrecht, making his United States opera debut on the podium. Series creator Laura Chinn ('The Mick') will star alongside Laci Mosley ('The Wedding Year'), Melanie Field ('Heathers') and Patty Guggenheim ('Splitting Up Together,' 'LA to Vegas') in Pop TV's newest scripted comedy, FLORIDA GIRLS, which starts production in early October. Inspired by Chinn's real life growing up on the West Coast of Florida, the 10-episode series follows four women who are forced to confront their stagnant lives when their only ambitious friend moves away to follow her dreams.
