THIS IS BIG, so far as thoughtful, intellectually provocative, often hilarious century spanning contemporary dance investigations go. 2016 marks the 25th anniversary of Big Dance Theater, as one of the most compelling and innovative ensembles in New York. Under the artistic leadership of Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar, who have honed a distinctive dance theater performance style that has been disrupting, and influencing, the urban downtown scene for the last 25 years, BDT has created a body of literate, archeological, mind-bending work that is unique in the field of performance, one at the forefront of experimentation hybridity and functional eccentricity.
As part of the eleventh edition of the COIL festival, Performance Space 122 and The Chocolate Factory present I Understand Everything Better, by recent Bessie Award Winner David Neumann. I Understand Everything Better is a deeply personal reflection on the consciousness of dying and interrupted narratives within the context of a cataclysmic storm. Combining personal narratives, traditional Japanese Noh theater and Neumann's virtuosic movement and humor, collaborators Tei Blow and Sibyl Kempson unite with Neumann to reveal the shimmer of attention to realms unseen, the concurrence of unrelated events and the body as evidence of a will having to let go.

The Public Theater announced the exciting international line-up today for the 11th annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 7-18, 2015. This popular and highly-anticipated program of The Public Theater's winter season will include artists from across the U.S. and around the world, including Argentina, Iran, Switzerland, Spain, Brazil, and the United Kingdom.
