The 94th season of the New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts (YPCs) will continue on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with "Classical," the second program in this season's series, The Ages of Music - each program exploring the sound, composers, and culture of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern eras, respectively. The all-Mozart program will feature the Overture to The Marriage of Figaro and selections from the Symphony No. 31, Paris; Flute Concerto No. 2, with Philharmonic flutist Yoobin Son in her Philharmonic solo debut; and Symphony No. 39. Assistant Conductor Joshua Gersen will conduct the program; Vice President, Education, Theodore Wiprud will host the event, which will also feature classical dancer Thomas Baird and hip-hop dancer Quilan Arnold. The scriptwriters and directors are Nell Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe, whose collaborations include the Tony-nominated and Olivier Award-winning Legally Blonde, The Musical.

It has been announced that Arielle Jacobs, star of the Australian production of Disney's ALADDIN, will be departing Aggrabah this December 4th. 

Winners of the 2016 FringeNYC Overall Excellence Awards were announced by festival Producing Artistic Director Elena K. Holy during a brief ceremony at drom in New York.

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) will celebrate its 20th Anniversary August 12 - 28, 2016. This year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. With attendance topping 75,000 people, FringeNYC is New York City's fifth largest event (just behind New York International Auto Show, Tribeca Film Festival, New York City Marathon, and New York Comic Con).

MOTOWN is getting a new Smokey! Not only that, but the Daily Mail writes that the West End production of Motown the Musical is extending through October 2017. Obioma Ugoala will join the cast as 'Smokey Robinson' starting July 4, 2016.

It's a happy day for the Jacobs family! Brother and sister Adam and Arielle Jacobs just surprised their parents with the news that Arielle will be playing Princess Jasmine in the Australian production of Aladdin opening in Sydney this August. Motown the Musical rocked into Overture Center in Madison on Tuesday night with an abundance of talent and energy delivering the memorable Hitsville, USA classics. This Berry Gordy biopic covers his life as a young boy striving for more, to a man borrowing money from his family to build a recording empire that changed history. The production culminates with the twenty-fifth anniversary celebration of Motown.

The West End production of Motown the Musical is now in previews at the Shaftesbury Theatre, with press night on 8 March 2016.
