Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Happy Wednesday! The week is halfway over and we've got a slew of Broadway stories for you to catch up on!

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the cult classic film Cruel Intentions, producers have announced the casting for the North American tour of the Off-Broadway smash hit Cruel Intentions: The 90s Musical. Following sold-out runs in Los Angeles and a critically acclaimed, sold-out run in New York City, the new musical - a stage adaptation of Roger Kumble's 1999 cult-hit film, created by Jordan Ross, Lindsey Rosin & Roger Kumble - will launch its first national tour at Proctors in Schenectady, NY on March 29, 2019. The production will play over 18 cities this Spring.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced complete casting today for the world premiere of SOCRATES, written by acclaimed actor, director, and writer Tim Blake Nelson. Directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes and anchoring the Onassis Festival 2019: Democracy is Coming, SOCRATES will begin previews on Tuesday, April 2, with a Joseph Papp Free Preview performance on Wednesday, April 3 in The Public's Martinson Hall. This powerful new play runs through Sunday, May 19, with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 16.

Taylor Pearlstein and Shannon Molly Flynn are proud to be premiering the music from their debut musical, WAKE YOU UP, at Green Room 42. When Eli makes his move from his small, conservative town to the big city to join his estranged, worldly, childhood friend, Jordan.

Next week, FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

Shoshana Greenberg and Hyeyoung Kim announce two mini-workshop presentations of DAYS OF RAGE on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 7pm, and Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 4pm at Town Stages, 221 West Broadway, NYC. The presentations feature Shanice Williams (Dorothy in The Wiz Live) and Alex Joseph Grayson (A Bronx Tale) and will comprise the first act of the show.

The Gateway theatre company's thrilling production of Flashdance, The Musical, is truly an electric way to end their busy Summer season. The sensational regional premiere, running through September 15th at the Patchogue Theatre, is excellently directed by Keith Andrews and boasts an absolutely superb cast. And though it is based on the famous 1983 movie, fans of the movie (like myself!) will notice several changes and will be pleasantly pleased in the stage incarnation.

As previously announced, Long Island native Julia Macchio stars in The Gateway's production of Flashdance - The Musical from August 31 throughSeptember 15 at Patchogue Theatre (previews begin August 29).

David Ira Goldstein, in his 25th and final year as Artistic Director of Arizona Theatre Company, has mounted an intensely human and deeply moving production of FIDDLER that is exemplary both in its distinctive portrayal of characters and place and its magnificent stagecraft (Kathryn Van Meter's spirited choreography, William Forrester's exquisite scenic design, and Cynthia Savage's brilliant costumery).

The beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof, called 'one of the greatest musicals in history' by the New York Daily News and 'Indestructible' by The New Yorker magazine, brings a richly vibrant close to 2016 and a celebratory opening to 2017 in Arizona Theatre Company's epic production as part of ATC's 50th anniversary season.

Some of Seattle's most talented actors will be hard at work in collaboration with writers from around the country in the rehearsal halls of The 5th Avenue Theatre this month as the company's NextFest: A Festival of New Musicals launches its three week intensive development cycle this weekend.

Teal Wicks (Finding Neverland, Wicked) and Carole Demas (Grease, The Baker's Wife) will join host Natalie Weiss (Les Miserables, Everyday Rapture, 'American Idol') and the selected cast of musical theater writing team Sam Carner and Derek Gregor's 7th Annual 'Barely Legal Show-Tune Extravaganza' in performance on Monday, August 17th at 7:30pm at New York's Monday, August 17th at 7:30pm at premier New York music venue (Le) Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker Street in Manhattan.
