Works by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Dominique Morisseau to Take the Stage at 2015 Mimi Awards

Theatre luminaries will gather on Monday, November 16, 2015, to honor Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Dominique Morisseau at the 2015 Steinberg Playwright Awards, presented by The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust. Scenes highlighting their previous and new work will be presented at the 8th Annual 'Mimi' Awards, which will take place at Lincoln Center Theater's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.

A friendly reminder! Previews begin tomorrow, November 10, for Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of IMPORTANT HATS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, the new comedy by Emmy Award nominee Nick Jones, directed by Tony Award nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel. IMPORTANT HATS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY opens Monday, November 23, 2015 at The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street).

Paul Muldoon and More Set for WP Theater's 'DEAR MISS BISHOP' Poetry Series Alongside DEAR ELIZABETH

Women's Project Theater, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Maureen Moynihan, in conjunction with Farrar, Straus and Giroux, has announced DEAR MISS BISHOP: Poets in Conversation with Sarah Ruhl's Dear Elizabeth, a series of conversations with important contemporary poets to accompany the current presentation of Sarah Ruhl's DEAR ELIZABETH, now playing at the WP's new artistic home, the McGinn/Cazale Theater.

MTC to Stage World Premiere of Penelope Skinner's THE RUINS OF CIVILIZATION

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced Manhattan Theatre Club will produce the world premiere of The Ruins of Civilization, the new play by award-winning playwright Penelope Skinner (The Village Bike), directed by Obie Award winner Leah C. Gardiner (Born Bad). This world premiere will be presented in spring 2016 as part of MTC's The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street).

Trustus Theatre to Present THE BROTHERS SIZE

Trustus Theatre continues the 31st season with Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brothers Size, the second part of The Brothers/Sister Plays directed by Chad Henderson and running from October 16 through October 31.

Unicorn Theatre to Present THE BROTHERS SIZE

Marking playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney's Kansas City debut, The Brothers Size is a lyrical tale of brotherly love, pulsing with the rhythms of the Louisiana bayou. When younger brother Oshoosi Size struggles to restart his life after leaving prison, he reaches out for help from his older brother Ogun. This modern tale explores West African Yoruba myth in a striking production that engages the audience as witness and judge. This drama contains strong language and mature subject matter as well as flights of poetry, music and dance in an exploration of freedom and the need to belong.

Branden Jacobs-Jenkins & Dominique Morisseau to be Honored at 8th Annual 'Mimi' Awards

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that playwrights Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Dominique Morisseau will be honored at the 2015 Steinberg Playwright Awards on Monday, November 16, 2015. Scenes highlighting their work will be performed at the 8th Annual 'Mimi' Awards, which will take place at Lincoln Center Theater.
