This summer award winning companies ATC and The Arcola Theatre are joining forces to present Rebecca Lenkiewicz's new version of Ibsen's play Ghosts. The collaboration brings together the producers of the acclaimed The Brothers Size and the theatre that presented the award winning production of the Lenkiewicz translation of An Enemy of The People last year.

The winners in the ninth annual Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers' Choice Awards, the only major UK theatre prize-giving decided by the public, were announced today (Sunday 15 February) at a glittering, star-studded evening at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
The National Arts Club announced the recipients of its Kesselring Fellowship (formerly the Kesselring Award) supporting the work of extraordinary playwrights who have yet to achieve national recognition. An industry panel of writers, literary managers, actors, producers and directors and critics evaluated twenty-five finalists. In a rare move based on extraordinary merit, the 2009 panel and the National Arts Club choose to give out two lead awards rather than one. These two playwrights, Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghad Zoo, upcoming at the Mark Taper Forum) and David Adjmi (Stunning, upcoming at Lincoln Center 3) were awarded Kesselring Fellowships. Playwrights Jenny Schwartz and Tarrel Alvin McCraney were also named as Kesselring Honorees

The nominations for the 2009 GLAAD Media Awards have been announced, BILLY ELLIOT and Road Show were among the New York theatre related show nominees. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation also announced that Tyra Banks will receive the Excellence in Media Award and Suze Orman will be awarded the Vito Russo Award. GLAAD also give honors to comicbooks, advertising and journalism. Ceremonies will be held on March 28 in New York at the Marriott Maquis, April 18 in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre and on May 9 in San Francisco at the San Francisco Hilton.

Directed by McCarter Artistic Director Emily Mann, the production will feature Suzanne Bertish, Robin Chadwick, Edward Hibbert, Madeleine Hutchins, Michael Izquierdo, and Rocco Sisto. The winners of the 2008 Evening Standard Theatre Awards, the first awards of the UK season have recently been published. The awards took place at a ceremony hosted by Richard Wilson on November 24th, 2008. The Evening Standard Awards are determined by a panel of critics that include Mail on Sunday's Georgina Brown, The London Observer's Susannah Clapp, The Times' Benedict Nightingale, Daily Telegraph's Charles Spencer and The Evening Standard's Nicholas de Jongh.
