Steppenwolf for Young Adults launches its 2009-2010 season with Mango Street by Tanya Saracho, based on the novel The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros and directed by Hallie Gordon.

Chris Cantelmi, last seen as The Jogger in Tanya Saracho's Our Lady of the Underpass, has stepped in to the role of Barry in 16th Street Theater's production of Brett Neveu?s The Last Barbecue directed by Artistic Director Ann Filmer. The Last Barbecue is running now thru August 8, 2009 at the Berwyn Cultural Center.

Goodman Theatre unites six diverse Chicago theater companies who are presenting work created, produced and/or performed by women for a special spring series, 'Taking the Stage: A Celebration of Women Making Theater,' April 4 - 19, 2009. Over the course of two weeks, each of the participating companies-Babes with Blades, Berwyn's 16th Street Theater, Goodman Theatre, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, Serendipity Theatre Collective and Teatro Luna-presents productions, panel discussions and workshops that highlight the voices and visions of female theater artists, as well as the opportunities and obstacles they face today.

Steppenwolf Theatre will present The House on Mango Street from 10/13/09 - 11/1/09. Tanya Saracho's adaption is based on the book by Sandra Cisneros. The show, which is part of Steppenwolf for Young Adults, is directed by Hallie Gordon and will take place in the Steppenwolf Upstairs Theatre.

Our Lady of the Underpass by Teatro Vista Resident Playwright Tanya Saracho will be produced at the Greenhouse Theatre Center, Teatro Vista Ensemble Member Sandra Marquez will direct. The play will run from February 19th through March 29th in the Downstairs Mainstage at the Greenhouse Theatre Center, 2257 N Lincoln, Chicago, IL 60614. Opening night (press) is Monday, February 23. The play features Charin Alvarez (Teatro Vista Ensemble), Chris Catelmi, Ilana Faust (Teatro Luna Artistic Associate), Suzette Mayobre (Teatro Luna Ensemble Member), Rosie Newton, and Juan Gabriel Ruiz (Teatro Vista Junior Ensemble).

16th Street Theater brings Teatro Luna's highly recommended hit S-E-X-OH! to the Berwyn Cultural Center for a 4-week limited engagement March 6 ? 29, 2009. Press opening is Sunday, March 8 at 5:00 PM. After last year's sold-out run of MACHOS, Teatro Luna returns with their 2006 smash S-E-X-OH! (THE REMIX) featuring a whole new crop of latina talent.
