The enhanced concert production will be directed by Louisa Muller with costume design - featuring character-based treatment of modern concert attire - by David C. Woolard. The performances will take place Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 3 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Following a critically acclaimed run at the Arcola Theatre in May 2016, Papatango today announces that May Sumbwanyambe's award-winning play After Independence is to be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 22 May.

The short, one-act opera, Mavra, highlights Igor Stravinsky's early flirtations with neoclassicism, a period which saw the composer produce other popular works such as Pulcinella and Symphony of Psalms. As Mavra looks to the past in both music and narrative, Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas  does the same. A Russian iconoclast reflects on his heritage and an English master takes on Greco-Roman mythology.
