59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) proudly welcomes the return of Origin Theatre Company with the world premiere of SPINNING THE TIMES, an evening of five short plays by Geraldine Aron, Lucy Caldwell, Rosalind Haslett, Rosemary Jenkinson and Belinda McKeon, part of 1st Irish at 59E59 Theaters.

A Noise Within (ANW), the critically acclaimed classical repertory theatre company hailed by critics as 'adventurous,' 'compelling and current,' 'ingenuity at work,' and 'what great theatre is all about,' launches its 2009-10 season with Shakespeare's spellbinding Richard III directed by ANW Co-Founder/Co-Artistic Director Geoff Elliott, opening Saturday, October 3 and closing Saturday, December 12, 2009 (previews begin Saturday, September 26), at the company's theatre in Glendale.

Thirteen theatres (13) theatres and ten (10) individuals have been selected to participate in the ninth round of the New Generations Program, a grant initiative cooperatively designed by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG). In nine rounds of the program, over $12.5 million in grants have been awarded to over 200 theatres in support of three grant objectives.

The Huntington Theatre Company opens its 28th season - a season of American stories - with August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Fences, the sixth chapter of his groundbreaking ten-play cycle about the 20th century African-American experience. Kenny Leon (Radio Golf, Gem of the Ocean, A Raisin in the Sun), acclaimed director and Wilson's final collaborator before his death, returns to the Huntington to helm the production, which stars John Beasley (Two Trains Running, Jitney, 'Everwood').

Women's Project, truly on a roll in its 32nd year (and not looking a day over 29!) of producing plays written and directed by women, has signed Maggie Siff, one of the acclaimed ensemble of actors in the hit, third-season TV series 'Mad Men,' to play Aphra Behn in Liz Duffy Adams's three-hander Or, directed by Wendy McClellan.

Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Ray Cullom, will present the beloved musical The Fantasticks, directed by Amanda Dehnert, from October 7 through November 1, 2009, on the Mainstage.

After a 48 year absence, Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents the first new Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie as the inaugural production of the new Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) beginning Thursday, September 10th, 2009 with an official opening on Thursday, October 15th, 2009. This will be a limited engagement through January 10th, 2010.

Rebel Theater Company will present a series of staged readings of Little Rock written and directed by Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj. Little Rock presents untold stories of nine young teenagers otherwise known as ?Little Rock Nine? and their struggles, strengths, hardships, and triumphs over the tragic events of the 1957 Little Rock crisis. The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park will open its Thompson Shelterhouse 50th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of VICTORIA MUSICA by Michele Lowe. Florida Studio Theatre concludes it's Summerfest Season with Jess Borgeson, Adam Long and Daniel Singer's The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) opening July 29 and continues through August 23, 2009. Called a 'Fantasia of zany energy' by the New York Daily News, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) has 'a talent to mine humor through the bards own words and the antics of 3 comedic actors playing all the great roles,' commented Richard Hopkins, Artistic Director.

Acclaimed stage and screen actor, Ben Hammer, will pay Cape May Stage Audiences a welcome visit in the award-winning Visiting Mr. Green by popular playwright Jeff Baron. Broadway veteran Hammer will be joined by up-and-comer Peter Sabri with both actors reprising their roles as Mr. Green and Ross, respectively.
