Kelli O'Hara, Stephen Schwartz, Patti LuPone & More Will Take Part in Symphony Space's Project B-way/95

Symphony Space pays exuberant homage to the Great White Way with Project B-way/95, a two-week celebration comprising 14 events, April 7 - 20. Curated and Produced by Joel Fram andAnnette Jolles, and named for the intersection where Symphony Space stands, Project B-way/95 salutes Broadway with an exciting array of concerts, tributes, film screenings, discussions, workshops, and more. Anchored by three starry concerts in the Sharp Theatre - an evening with the incomparable Patti LuPone (Tuesday, April 19), the cheerfully nepotistic "All in the Family" with Kelli O'Hara (Monday, April 11), and this year's installment of Symphony Space's signature event, Wall to Wall Stephen Schwartz (Saturday, April 16) - Project B-way/95 offers something for every lover of American musical theater. Ensemble for the Romantic Century to Present THE HEART IS NOT MADE OF STONE, 4/27

New York City, NY — Celebrating its 15th season, the Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC) returns to BAM Fisher for six performances of Anna Akhmatova: The Heart is Not Made of Stone. Written by Eve Wolf and directed by Donald T. Sanders, this multi-media production examines the troubled relationship between artistic creation and totalitarianism through the perspective of the Russian poet Anna Akhmatova (1889-1966). This tale of passion, love, political repression, and redemption is interwoven with music by Russian composers' Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich.

The Joyce to Present Dorrance Dance in World Premiere of ETM: DOUBLE DOWN

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is proud to present one of the hottest tickets in tap (and concert) dance right now, 2015 MacArthur Foundation “Gernius” Fellow Michelle Dorrance and her internationally renowned company Dorrance Dance. The company, under Dorrance's artistic leadership and choreography, will perform the world premiere of ETM: Double Downfrom April 26 to May 1 at The Joyce Theater. Maxwell & Sibblies Drury's REALLY Adds Performances at Abrons

Due to popular demand Abrons Arts Center and New York City Players are adding three additional performances of Really, a new play written by Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed by Richard Maxwell and designed by photographer Michael Schmelling. Performed by Elaine Davis, Tavish Miller and Kaneza Schaal, Really is a play about grief, intimacy and the difference between goodness and greatness seen through the lens of photography. A black woman takes pictures of her artist boyfriend's mom. As they jockey for a claim to him, they try to redefine themselves in the wake of his legacy.

Stockard Channing, Condola Rashad and More Set for Beverly Cleary Celebration at Symphony Space

After the success of sold-out events two years running, featuring Paul Giamatti, Amy Ryan, Liev Schreiber, David Hyde Pierce, and Naomi Watts, Symphony Space and First Book NYC team up once again. This time, the annual event on Sunday, April 3rd, will celebrate the treasured children's novelist Beverly Cleary on her 100th birthday with an all ages event as part of Symphony Space's Thalia Kids' Book Club series.

Gingold Theatrical Group to Host SHAW NEW YORK SYMPOSIUM Next Week

Gingold Theatrical Group's SHAW NEW YORK FESTIVAL, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, hosts a SHAW NEW YORK SYMPOSIUM  on Monday, March 14 from 6-8pm, at the Bruno Walter Auditorium, New York Public Library (111 Amsterdam Avenue). Kent Tritle to Lead World Premiere of Organ Transcription of Mahler's Symphony No. 8, 4/7

?The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, in collaboration with the Manhattan School of Music and Oratorio Society of New York, presents the world premiere of a transcription for organ, vocal soloists, and choruses, of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8, on Thursday, April 7th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), Manhattan. This event follows the two performances of the symphony in its original orchestration at the Cathedral on February 24th and 25th.

BWW Review: Marcus Goldhaber's Monthly Residency at Bar Thalia Is a Lovely Way to Spend Time On a Sunday Night

Bar Thalia, a narrow, uber-casual bar/café adjacent to the Upper West Side arts hub Symphony Space, has become the musical pied-à-terre of vocalist Marcus Goldhaber. Each first Sunday of the month, the artist presents two loosey-goosey acoustic sets with a guest singer and guitarist. The past Sunday's show featured vocalist Tessa Souter with Tony Romano on guitar.

Carson Kreitzer, Cesar Alvarez & More Among American Theatre Wing's 2016 Jonathan Larson Grant Recipients

? The American Theatre Wing announced today that the 2016 Jonathan Larson Grants recipients are Cesar Alvarez (book, music and lyrics), Nikko Benson (music and lyrics), Carson Kreitzer (book and lyrics), and Sam Salmond (book, music, and lyrics). Four prestigious grants of $10,000 each, totaling $40,000, will be presented on Monday, March 21, 2016 at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space. The event will feature special performances of the recipients' work.
