BWW Interview: Crystal Kellogg of FINDING NEVERLAND

BroadwayWorld San Francisco talks with Crystal Kellogg, Mary Barrie and the understudy for Sylvia in Finding Neverland. Kellogg joins the tour after performing in the Broadway production and tells us about changes to the musical, the history behind the story and her own personal connection to the Bay Area.

BWW Review: Cute but Uninspired FINDING NEVERLAND at Paramount

Lord, save us from pop songwriters who think they can write musical theater. Sure, some transition successfully but this would not be the case for Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy who have given us the completely unmemorable "Finding Neverland", currently playing at the Paramount Theatre. And if the lackluster music weren't enough, the show is also weighed down by a book from James Graham and direction from Diane Paulus who it seems had no idea what story they wanted to tell as there seemed to be two distinct shows happening and neither of them were very good.

WaterTower Theatre Announces Details for the 3rd Annual Women in Theatre Panel

WaterTower Theatre today announced details for the third annual WOMEN IN THEATRE panel discussion.  The event is presented under the auspices of Women of WaterTower Theatre (WOW!) and it is chaired by Jennifer Martinez.  This is the third panel in the series, having already explored the unique perspective of prominent female directors and actors, 2017 will feature The Designers, and it will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm (with a post-lecture reception in the lobby with the artists). The event will be held in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre.  The lecture will be moderated by Dallas arts journalist Lauren Smart, and features Leann Burns, Clare Floyd DeVries, Sylvia Fuhrken Marrs, and Frida Espinosa-Muller.

Community Dream Productions To Present Deeply Human BLIND

On January 28 and 29, 2017, Fertile Ground audiences can see Blind, a staged reading of a new work by Portland playwright, Bonnie Ratner. Award-winning director, Bobby Bermea, is at the helm. Performances are at 1:00 p.m. on the 28 th and 7:30 p.m. on the 30 th . The Saturday matinee performance is followed by a post-show conversation facilitated by The Color of Now, and the Sunday evening performance will be ASL interpreted. Performances are at Third Rail/Imago Theatre, 17 SE 8th Ave, Portland, OR 97214. The reading features popular Portland actors Jason Glick, Josie Seid, Danielle Weathers, Ted Schulz, Isabella Buckner, James Dixon and LaTevin Alexander.

Musician Kelley Deal Fights for the Affordable Care Act in D.C.

Kelley Deal, (guitarist with The Breeders, R. Ring) joins Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell at The National Press Club in Washington DC on Monday, January 9, 2017 to fight the repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble Presents the World Premiere of WINTER by Julie Jensen

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core, announces the world premiere of Winter by Julie Jensen. The production, co-directed by RTE members Megan Carney and Mark Ulrich,runs January 7 - February 11, 2017, at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N.
