Athena Theatre presents A NEW MEMORY

Athena Theatre selected eight playwrights for its playwriting group, Athena Writes, assembled for a one-year exploration of the theme 'A New Memory'.  It centers on Athena Theatre's commitment to supporting new works that push the boundaries of live theatre. These eight plays were curated and written while in residence with Athena Theatre.

J. L. Higgs Pens 'Ella: A Stepmum's Tale'

Author J. L. Higgs brings the fairy tales of Cinderella and Humpty Dumpty into the modern day. In 'Ella: A Stepmum's Tale' (published by Balboa Press AU), readers will learn life lessons about not judging anyone by outward appearances alone.

Alexander Upstairs Presents COLD CASE: REVISITING DULCIE SEPTEMBER

The Sylvia Vollenhoven and Basil Appollis-penned biographical drama, COLD CASE: REVISITING DULCIE SEPTEMBER, will be stage at the Alexander Upstairs this April. Conceived and performed by Denise Newman, the hour-long production won a Standard Bank Ovation Award and the Adelaide Tambo Humanitarian Award at the National Arts Festival in 2014.

Write Out Loud presents THE LAST TIME I SAW PARIS

Write Out Loud - an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading short stories aloud for a live audience  - announces THE LAST TIME I SAW PARIS, the fifth production in their 10th Anniversary Season.  Write Out Loud Story Concerts bring literature to life - aloud - with rehearsed readings by professional actors. Each program explores specific themes by weaving a variety of stories, poems and music together into a literary tapestry.  Amanda Sitton, Veronica Murphy, Walter Ritter and other WOL favorites will perform and Mark Danisovszky will play the music of Paris. A pre-show reception starts at 6:15pm with a 7:00pm curtain.

Lookingglass Theatre Company presents Award-Winning Production of MOBY DICK

Lookingglass Theatre Company concludes its Season with its award-winning production of Moby Dick, adapted and directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin, from the book by Herman Melville, in association with The Actors Gymnasium. Moby Dick runs June 7 - September 3, 2017 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson.
