The producers of the critically acclaimed AMERICAN IDIOT announced today that Green Day frontman and the musical's composer and co-author Billie Joe Armstrong will return to the role of 'St. Jimmy' for 50 performances beginning on January 1, 2011. Armstrong made a triumphant Broadway debut in a one week engagement last September and played to sold-out houses at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street.

Original Broadway cast member and current "St. Jimmy," Tony Vincent, will resume performances on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 following a leave of absence due to a personal family matter. On Thursday, July 29th, Tony nominee Stark Sands from AMERICAN IDIOT visits MyFOX's Good Day New York. He talks about the show, his name, and meeting his future wife on a New Year's trip to England. Sands, who was nominated in 2007 for his role in JOURNEY'S END, plays Tunny in the Green Day musical.
