The Oregon Shakespeare Festival expands its ongoing commitment to the development and production of new work with five new commissions announced today.

The Metropolitan Opera's 2011-12 season will feature the world's leading singers, conductors, and stage directors in seven new productions, including a world premiere, a Met premiere, and the first complete performances of a new Der Ring des Nibelungen cycle conducted by Music Director James Levine and directed by Robert Lepage.

NEW YORK NEW YORK (with a stage adaptation of Earl Mac Rauch) EVITA, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF,WITCHES OF EASTWICK,BABY as well as CASSINO DA URCA (a Brazilian original musical) are among the shows in the works for 2011 in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
