The life and work of playwright Lanford Wilson will be celebrated in a memorial tribute on Monday, May 16 at 1PM at The Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street, east of Broadway).

According to Deadline.com, Broadway vetereans Cherry Jones, Hank Azaria, and Kathryn Hahn will all join the cast of NBC pilots. Azaria and Hahn will co-star as PR executives in the romantic comedy 'Free Agents.' Jones is set to star as a psychiatrist in REM.

This highly anticipated annual gala will take place on Monday, March 14, 2011 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues). Andy Cohen (Host of Bravo TV's 'Watch What Happens Live') will host the evening. David Duchovny (star of the recent MCC Theater hit, The Break of Noon), Téa Leoni, Hugh Dancy (star of yet another recent MCC hit, The Pride) and Claire Danes are this year's honorary chairs. Funds raised from Miscast help MCC Theater produce some of the most talked-about new work Off Broadway and support their Youth Company and in-school partnerships that serve New York City public high school students, as well as their literary development work with emerging playwrights.

The show, which was previously scheduled to open on February 18, will now begin performances on Thursday, February 24 and will run through Saturday, March 5. Patrons holding tickets for cancelled performances are asked to contact the Civic Theatre Box Office at 610-432-8943 to receive tickets for a new date.

Fifth of July will close Sunday, February 27th, with eight total performances. Stage and film star Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite; Hairspray), Off Broadway vet Ashley Austin Morris (Die Mommie Die) officially joined the July cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's smash hit show Love, Loss, and What I Wore and they made their debut on June 30th. They join stars Penny Fuller (who was part of the last cast and will continue her role as ‘Gingy'), Sharon Lawrence ('NYPD Blue') and Myra Lucretia Taylor (Broadway's Nine). The five women began their run on Wednesday, June 30 and continue through Sunday, July 25.

Yesterday, June 27, Lincoln Center Theater opened A. R. Gurney's new play, THE GRAND MANNER, directed by Mark Lamos, at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 W. 65 Street). Kate Burton, Boyd Gaines, Bobby Steggert and Brenda Wehle comprise the four character cast of this world premiere production. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the opening night celebration.

Last night, on June 14, The Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director; Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) presented a rare concert performance of Alan J. Lerner and Frederick Loewe's 'Brigadoon' on Broadway for its 2010 Annual Benefit Gala.

It was recently reported that last year's Emmy Award winner of best supporting drama actress, Cherry Jones ('24'), had taken her name off the Emmy ballot. The news was reported by the Los Angeles Times. The popular theatre performer has written an email to Tom O'Neil, the article's author, to explain the situation.
