Theater fills the Lackland Center as Centenary Stage Company announces its 2016 - 17 professional theater line-up.  The Sitnik Theater is set to burst with audience favorites as this season's main stage professional theater series includes three exciting CSC produced plays; Sherlock Holmes and the Curse of the Jersey Lily, Mary Poppins and The Surrogate and welcomes three incredible solo performances Kick, Hard Travelin' with Woody and The Other Mozart as the CSC Fringe Festival returns for its second installment in the Kutz Theatre.

SoloChicago Theatre to Stage THE UNFORTUNATES at Theater Wit

Following its highly acclaimed inaugural production of Churchill, which played in Chicago, New York City and continues to play in several places around the country, SoloChicago Theatre is pleased to announce its second production - THE UNFORTUNATES by Australian playwright Aoise Stratford. SoloChicago Artistic Director Kurt Johns will direct the piece about survival, celebrity, violence and friendship, which begins performances June 17 at Theater Wit.

The Centenary Stage Company announces the 2016 Women Playwrights Series (WPS) line-up, with the works of playwrights Patricia Cotter, Emma Stanton and Sonya Sobieski, and three distinctive new plays which will feature professional casts and directors and be presented in the Lackland Center Wednesday evenings, tonight, April 13, and April 20th and 27th at 7:30 PM.

Regional Educators to Lead 'ED TECH' Panel After Centenary Stage's START DOWN

Several regional educators will head the panel discussion on April 17, in conjunction with the world premiere production of the play 'Start Down' by Eleanor Burgess, which explores the impact of new technologies on the classroom and teaching trends, through the relationships of a group of young, enthusiastic teachers and their optimistic start-up entrepreneur partners.

Centenary Stage Company's Women Playwright Series to Feature PERILS OF HUMAN DISCOURSE

Dario Fo meets Woody Allen in this comedy about two young romantics navigating their way through love, language and work at the "Institute of Right Things to Say"   in Sonya Sobieski's new play, "The Perils of Human Discourse", which will be presented in the Centenary Stage Company's Women Playwright Series on Wednesday, April 20th at 7:30 PM in the Lackland Center.   "Perils" will be directed by Mikaela Kafka.

EgoPo's MACHINAL Opens 4/22

On April 22, EgoPo presents the opening of Sophie Treadwell's expressionist masterpiece, Machinal. Machinal is directed by Brenna Geffers, whose most recent work with EgoPo includes Eugene O'Neill's The Hairy Ape, and Henrik Ibsen's Lady from the Sea and A Doll's House.

ReGroup to Present Sinclair Lewis' IT CAN'T HAPPEN HERE

The Lost Group Theatre Plays: Vol 4 will be out in July! As before, this 3 volume collection will contain unpublished or long-out-of-print scripts of the Group's rare play. Beginning with Sidney Kingsley's Pulitzer Prize Winning play MEN IN WHITE, the book continues with the unaltered (previously unpublished)  version of Dawn Powell's THE PARTY (Renamed, and heavily edited by the Group under the name BIG NIGHT) The third play will be announced momentarily.
