KVPAC Holds Auditions for Next Adult Musical 7/20-21

Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center (KVPAC) has their adult community theatre, Encore Players, preparing for their upcoming theatre production of WORKING, The Musical. Auditions for WORKING, The Musical will be held in 30-minute slots at KVPAC on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 20 and 21, 2010 starting at 6:30pm.

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director, Tim Sanford; Managing Director, Leslie Marcus) and New York Theatre Workshop (Artistic Director, James C. Nicola; Managing Director, William Russo) have announced that they will co-produce THE SHAGGS: PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORLD, a new musical with book by Joy Gregory; music by Gunnar Madsen; lyrics by Ms. Gregory and Mr. Madsen; and story by Ms. Gregory, Mr. Madsen and John Langs.

The 1st International Festival of Arts and Innovation will begin on June 11, 2010, at Chautauqua Institution in Western New York State in partnership with The Toronto International Film Festival (known as TIFF.365). Focusing on the best of Canadian Cinema, The Festival will feature the film premiere of CAIRO TIME, followed by a family film event featuring the award-winning ST. RALPH, the story of a 9th grader who outran everyone's expectations except his own in his bold quest to win the Boston Marathon. The Film Festival will also include selected short animated films from the 'Best of TIFF' and the 'TIFF Short Cuts' programs. All film screenings will be at the Chautauqua Cinema.

Everyman Theatre's Baltimore will close the 09/10 season with the premiere of Blackbird, Examines the Boundaries of Love, May 12 through June 13. Blackbird, a haunting, powerful drama that has left London and New York audiences breathless. The Baltimore premiere directed by Derek Goldman will star Everyman Resident Company member Megan Anderson and David Parkes in his Everyman debut. From sagebrush to Sheriff Joe, from Green Valley to kokopelli - it's time to batten down the barrel cactus because The Second City is on their way to the Grand Canyon State to do a no-holds-barred world premiere comedy revue all about Arizona. THE SECOND CITY DOES ARIZONA is an original revue of comic sketches and songs aimed at skewering everything and everyone that is unique, ridiculous and wonderful about the land of rising temperatures and falling real estate. The Second City Does Arizona plays in Phoenix at the Herberger Theater Center from April 29 through May 16. Arizona Theatre Company's season sponsors are I.
