The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival (OOB) is now accepting submissions for its 40th annual season, taking place this summer in New York City. The OOB Festival is New York's oldest, continuous short play festival, featuring emerging playwrights from across the United States, Canada, and abroad. 30 plays will be selected for the weeklong festival, and six plays will be published in the 40th edition of the Off Off Broadway Festival Plays anthology series.

New Light Theater Project, who have just been inducted into the Indie Theater Hall of Fame for 2014 by Indie Theater Now, will present the World Premiere of NO ONE LOVES US HERE by hot, up-and-coming British playwright Ross Howard. This black comedy was a finalist for the New York Stage and Film Founders Award 2012. Directed by Jerry Heymann, previews begin January 15 at Urban Stages. Opening night is slated for January 22.

Rep Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), continues its 22nd season with Samuel D. Hunter's 'The Whale', directed by Helen Hayes award winner and Rep Stage veteran Kasi Campbell.

Danny Bernardy takes on the role of leading male 'Andrew Polinski' in the hit Off-Broadway comedy 'My Big Gay Italian Wedding' opposite creator Anthony J. Wilkinson. Currently being played by Brandon Goins, Bernardy is set to step in for the winter season beginning tonight, January 10th every Saturday at 8pm.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the cast and creative team for the Michele Riml comedy Sexy Laundry, which will be presented in the Studio Theatre Jan. 31 - Feb. 22, 2015. Veteran actors Wendy Welch and Bob Hess will co-star as Alice and Henry.

The Flea Theater presents Kim Davies' World Premiere Smoke, directed by Flea Resident Director Tom Costello (The Wundelsteipen (and other difficult roles for young people)) and featuring members of The Bats, the resident acting company at The Flea. Says Producing Director Carol Ostrow, 'where 50 Shades of Grey dances on the surface of BDSM, Smoke cuts to the core.' TACT/The Actors Company Theatre is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for Abundance, the 1990 play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart). An epic tale of friendship set against the backdrop of the sweeping American West, Abundance will be directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, who directed last season's production of William Inge's Natural Affection.
