Wallis Annenberg Center For The Performing Arts Announces 2018/2019 Season

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announced today the 2018/2019 season, delivering ten months of groundbreaking produced and presented works in dance, music and theater from locally, nationally and internationally renowned artists and companies. The season begins September 21, 2018, marking the third year of programming under the leadership of Artistic Director Paul Crewes and Managing Director Rachel Fine and the sixth for the institution. Michael Nemeroff, Chairman of the Board of The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, begins the second year of his term. 

Seven Siblings Theatre Presents FROZEN By Bryony Lavery

A form-defying drama that intertwines the life of a serial killer, a mother searching for her missing child, and an American academic digging deep into the criminal mind. Thorny, humane, and provocative, Frozen explores our desire for vindication and capacity for forgiveness, after an act that would seem to rule them out entirely.

Award Winning Production of THE INVISIBLE HAND Opens At TheaterWorks, Today

Rob Ruggiero, Producing Artistic Director announced today that TheaterWorks  will present the Westport Country Playhouse's acclaimed production of THE INVISIBLE HAND by Ayad Akhtar, May 24 through June 23, 2018.  THE INVISIBLE HAND is the fourth show of TheaterWorks 32nd Season.

CAROLE'S KINGS Kicks Off FST's 2018 Summer Cabaret Season

Studio Theatre (FST) kicks off its 5th Summer Sidekicks Cabaret Series with the high energy music revue Carole's Kings. Honoring one of the most cherished and revered singer-songwriters of the 20th century, this cabaret transports audiences back in time to when Carole King was queen of the airwaves. Carole's Kings opens in FST's John C. Court Cabaret on June 14, and is part of a 3-show Summer Cabaret subscription package, which can be purchased for as little as $49.

Jason Tam Joins Cast of BE MORE CHILL

Broadway's Jason Tam joins the company of this summer's hotly anticipated musical Be More Chill. Assuming the role of 'The Squip,' Tam joins previously announced cast members from the 2015 Two River Theater production and original cast recording including Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening, Groundhog Day) as Rich, Katlyn Carlson (Dirty Dancing, The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin) as Chloe, Stephanie Hsu (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Christine, Lauren Marcus (The Humans at St. Louis Rep, Company at Barrington Stage) as Brooke, and George Salazar (tick tick BOOM!, Godspell, The Lightning Thief) as Michael; as well as Will Roland (Dear Evan Hansen, The Black Suits) as Jeremy and Jason SweetTooth Williams (Freaky Friday, Benny and Joon, Bloodsong of Love) as Jeremy's Dad/Mr. Reyes.

Photo Flash: After Hours Theatre Co. Presents ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST

AFTER HOURS THETRE COMPANY (who most recently produced the Ovation nominated Dogfight and I Love You Because) presents a unique immersive experience, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, adapted by Dale Wasserman, based on the novel by Ken Kesey, produced by Graham Wetterhahn, and directed by Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx. ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST will begin previews on Thursday, May 11; will open on Friday, May 25and perform through Sunday, July 1 at SIX01 Studio, 630 S. Flower St. in Burbank.

Ferocious Lotus Premieres TWO MILE HOLLOW This Summer

Ferocious Lotus Theatre Company, with the support of Intersection for the Arts, presents the world premiere of Leah Nanako Winkler's TWO MILE HOLLOW directed by Lily Tung Crystal. Ferocious Lotus is proud to produce Winkler's work since she was announced as the 2018 winner of the coveted Yale Drama Series Prize for her new play, GOD SAID THIS, and the 2018-2019 Jerome Fellow at The Lark. TWO MILE HOLLOW is part of a simultaneous world premiere with Artists at Play in Los Angeles, First Floor Theatre in Chicago, and Theatre Mu/Mixed Blood Theatre in Minneapolis.

The Albany Hosts Weekend Run of FEEL

The Albany Studio is hosting a weekend run of acclaimed London Fringe company, Proforca with their production of FEEL on Friday 15 & Saturday 16 June.

MAC Announces 2018 Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series of Films and Concerts

McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD), presents the 2018 Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series. Programming runs July 12-Aug.10 and includes a Thursday evening Family Movie Series, the Thursday evening WDCB Live Jazz Concert Series and a Friday evening Pop Music Series. One of the highlights of the Friday evening series promises to be the July 20 New Philharmonic pops concert, which will be simulcast on Facebook Live for the second year in a row. New for this season: To help insure everyone's safety in light of the growing popularity of the series, seating for films and evening concerts will begin at 6 p.m. No admittance will be allowed prior to 6 p.m. for sound check and security reasons.  Admission to Lakeside Pavilion Summer Series events and parking is always free.

BWW Review: THE REMAINS at Studio Theatre

In The Remains, husband and husband Kevin (Maulik Pancholy) and Theo (Glenn Fitzgerald) throw a dinner party for their family on their 10th wedding anniversary. One of the first gay couples to be married in the US, they are preparing to make a mysterious announcement. Initially, the audience is kept in the dark but it's fairly obvious the 'divorce-bomb' is about to drop. Everyone should know by now that a play about marriage is a play about divorce.

Inaugural NEW WORKS FESTIVAL Begins This May

Garry Marshall Theatre presents the Inaugural New Works Festival featuring readings of eight new plays over four days, May 22, 23, 29 and 30, with readings at 4pm and 8pm.

Dallas Theater Center Presents WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award Recipient Dallas Theater Center (DTC) presents White Rabbit Red Rabbit by Nassim Soleimanpour at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre Studio Theatre. White Rabbit Red Rabbit begins on May 30 and runs through July 1. Hope Summer Rep Begins Rehearsals For 47th Season

Hope Summer Repertory Theatre (HSRT), Western Michigan's premier summer theatre, has begun rehearsals for their highly anticipated 2018 season! The company was established at Hope College in 1972 and is entering their 47th Season with newly named New York City Theatre Artist Lenny Banovez, as the company's new Artistic Director.

FST's Presents REEL MUSIC

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) announces its first-ever cabaret-style children's show, Reel Music, a musical journey through the history and heart of the movies. Featuring songs from such hit movies as The Wizard of Oz, Frozen, Moana, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Lego Movie, and Trolls, this blockbuster musical adventure will entertain fans of classic black and white films and brightly animated movies alike.
