James Greene, Veteran Broadway Actor Dies At 91

James Greene, a character actor with an illustrious stage career, but perhaps best known for his four-year stint on TV's 'The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd' with writer and director Jay Tarses, died on November 9, 2018, at his home in Los Angeles. He was 91.

Last Chance to See Douglas Booth And Clifford Samuel In A GUIDE FOR THE HOMESICK

Audiences have two weeks left to catch Ken Urban's arresting new drama A Guide for the Homesick, with its 'mesmerizing performances' (Aleks Sierz, Theatre Times) by the talented Douglas Booth and Clifford Samuel. Connecticut Repertory Theatre Presents Presents A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS

Florida Studio Theatre Extends A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) opens its 45th Winter Mainstage Season with the four-time Tony Award-winning musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Called "A true tour de force" by The New York Times, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder follows Monty Navarro, a lowly born Englishman who suddenly discovers he is eighth in succession to become the Earl of Highurst, and is determined to gain the title…by any means necessary. This critically-acclaimed, knock 'em dead musical, with Book and Lyrics by Robert L. Freedman and Music and Lyrics by Steven Lutvak, will run starting November 7 in FST's Gompertz Theatre.

City Of Sandy Springs Invites Residents To Share Their Vision For Cultural Center

The City of Sandy Springs is inviting residents and interested parties to attend a Public Visioning Session for a potential new Cultural Center on Thursday, November 29, 2018.  A Cultural Center would support the objectives of the City Center Master Plan, adopted in 2012.  The intent of a Center would be to foster creativity and support for arts in the community through education, innovation and collaboration. The City is exploring partnerships with Visit Sandy Springs, the Sandy Springs - Perimeter Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust.

Indigo Girls Come to the Warner

The Warner Theatre will welcome the GRAMMY-Award winning band, INDIGO GIRLS, to the Main Stage on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 8 PM. Tickets will go on sale to Warner Members on Tuesday, November 13 at 10 AM and to the General Public on Friday, November 16 at 10 AM. Twenty years after they began releasing records as the Indigo Girls, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have politely declined the opportunity to slow down with age. With a legacy of releases and countless U.S. and international tours behind them, they have forged their own way in the music business. Selling over 14 million records, they are still going strong. Amy and Emily are the only duo with top 40 titles on the Billboard 200 in the '80s, '90s, '00s and '10s.

The Warner Presents its Annual Holiday Movie Event

UW Drama Presents FEFU AND HER FRIENDS By María Irene Fornés

Professor Valerie Curtis-Newton directs an all-female cast in Maria Irene Fornes' Fefu and Her Friends. Fornes, who passed away October 31st at the age of 88, was the winner of nine Obie Awards, including the award for sustained achievement. She has been called "the most important American playwright you've never heard of," and "influential beyond measure." This iconoclast, beloved teacher and mentor to some of contemporary theatre's most exciting writers, is the subject of the new documentary The Rest I Make Up. She is considered by many to be the mother of U.S. Latinx Theatre. This year marks a national celebration of her work, Celebrando Fornes/Celebrating Fornes.

Moss Hart & Kitty Carlisle Hart New Play Initiative 'Silver Medallion' Winners Get L.A. Productions

Two new character-driven relationship plays, both by award-winning women writers and both inspired by events currently at the forefront of our national consciousness, beat out 1241 other submissions in the inaugural Moss Hart & Kitty Carlisle Hart New Play Initiative. Hart NPI artistic director Christopher Hart will direct Silver Medallion-winning plays Confederates by Suzanne Bradbeer, opening Nov. 9, and Exit Wounds by Wendy Graf, opening Nov. 16, at Grove Theater Center in Burbank, where the two plays will continue to run in repertory through Dec. 16. One will be the named the Gold Medallion winner and open on March 13, 2019 for a six-week, off-Broadway run in the 196-seat "Theater A" at 59E59 Theaters in New York City.

New Psychological Thriller DAMASCUS Opens At Florida Rep

Florida Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce the southeastern United States premiere of "Damascus," a psychological thriller chosen from the theatre's popular PlayLab festival of new works in 2017. Playing November 9 to December 9 in the ArtStage Studio Theatre, the run includes four nearly sold out preview performances November 6-8 and features a talkback with the cast and playwright following the matinee performance on November 17.
