According to The New York Times Arts Blog, Sting will be releasing a new album on September 24th which will include songs from his new musical THE LAST SHIP. The full-length LP marks his first release of original material since 2003.

Written by critically acclaimed UK author John Livings, At Last: The Etta James Story premiered at Melbourne's Athenaeum Theatre on 19 February 2013 (just over a year after Etta James' death in January 2012), and enjoyed a sell-out Sydney season in May. The show will play at the Her Majesty's Theatre Adelaide, for three performances on 2 and 3 August 2013 following a season in Brisbane. Tickets go on sale through BASS outlets from Monday 11 June.?

Bay Area Cabaret will conclude its 2012-2013 season by honoring the memory and legendary career of composer Marvin Hamlisch. Selections from his work (A Chorus Line, The Way We Were, They're Playing Our Song) will be performed by special guests including Broadway stars Lisa Vroman (The Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd) and Karen Mason (Mamma Mia!, Sunset Boulevard), Grammy Award winner Billy Stritch, 2012 Bay Area Teen Idol winner Bobby Conte Thornton, Academy Award-winning songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman, and other guest artists to be announced. Having performed with Bay Area Cabaret for the grand re-opening of the Venetian Room in 2010, Mr. Hamlisch will always hold a special place in Bay Area Cabaret's history. This tribute to his legacy will take place on the late composer's 69th birthday, tonight, June 2, 2013, at 8pm in the historic Venetian Room of the Fairmont San Francisco (950 Mason Street). Nine-time GRAMMY award-winner Sheryl Crow will release her highly anticipated brand-new album, Feels Like Home, September 10th on Warner Bros. Records. The album is the first country record of her career and features her hit single, 'Easy,' which is currently Top 20 and climbing. Each track on the album was co-written with another songwriter, which is a first for Crow, including GRAMMY award-winner Brad Paisley. Musical Monday Nights continue in the Cafe at the world famous Le Cirque restaurant. Elegant Sabrina Wender was the menu addition last night. A singer-songwriter, dancer and actress, Sabrina Wender has a true passion for the arts. She has recorded a CD of pop music in Italy and also has an in-depth knowledge of American Jazz and Swing music of the 30s and 40s. As a teenager, Sabrina attended summer courses at the High School of Performing Arts in New York and has continued to further her musical studies both in Europe and the U.S. She has composed original ballad songs and soundtracks for documentaries about Italy which she produced and edited herself. As a dancer, Sabrina studied ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance and jazz at the California Club in Milan and currently attends The Steps School in New York. She has performed in music videos for Sting and Zucchero in collaboration with choreographers Momix and David Parsons. Sabrina has appeared on various television programs, including the Italian TV Network RAI where she was the female lead performer on the Saturdayevening variety program "Rido.' She also studied acting at Thomas G. Waites Acting Studio in New York.

Come to the Cabaret…The Absinthe Cabaret, that is. Saturday night was the inaugural event of the newly formed Absinthe Cabaret in Franklin, TN. Executive Producer, Carolan Trbovich lined up a fantastic first event, with Broadway star Eden Espinosa headlining, and theatre and stage musician Johnny Rodgers hosting. Eden is best known for her roles as Elphaba in Wicked, for playing Maureen in the final cast of RENT on Broadway, and for originating the role of Brooklyn in the musical Brooklyn. Johnny Rodgers has toured with Liza Minnelli and appeared on Broadway with her during her show, Liza's at the Palace.

Rapper Snoop Lion, who has been one of the most outspoken proponents of ending gun violence, has joined with singer Tony Bennett to support VOICES AGAINST VIOLENCE, a campaign launched last month by Bennett, his son and manager Danny Bennett and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. The campaign supports common sense gun laws and calls for ending the gun violence that takes thousands of innocent lives each year in communities across America.
