Rosen Performing Arts Center Presents SALUTE TO SINGER/SONGWRITERS OF THE SEVENTIES Tonight

Elton John. Carole King. Joni Mitchell. Carly Simon. Paul Simon. Stevie Wonder. They were six superstar singer/songwriters in a constellation of such stars during the early 1970s; musicians who could definitely be considered the composers of the 'New Great American Songbook.' On July 23 at 7 pm, the Rosen Performing Arts Center of the Wayne, New Jersey YMCA (as part of their 2015 Summer Concert Series) will present the star-studded revue Salute to Singer/Songwriters of the Seventies, which celebrates the great talents of the 'Golden Age of the Pop Singer/Songwriter.'

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents David Josefsberg in "The Devil Inside" on August 3rd at 7pm. The show is about "The Devil Inside" Mr. Josefsberg. Most people know David as a sweet, innocent, wonderful, decent human being (yeah right) but David also has a dark side. There will be some Jason Robert Brown, Stevie Wonder, and some Queen, but there will also be some filthy, hilarious, off-color material written by Josefsberg himself.

I grew up on vinyl records, 'hit parades' and transistor radios tuned to the AM dial. I love Motown Music. But I felt skeptical about a breezy staged extravaganza about Berry Gordy's mercurial career. Five minutes into the opening medley, this stunning production won me over. This is NOT your assembly line jukebox musical!

With its gospel-infused sound and poignant, timeless lyric, the song has been covered by multiple major label artists including, Joan Baez and Richie Sambora. The last song ever recorded by Ray Charles for his album,Genius Loves Company, Charles won multiple Grammy Awards (posthumously) for his version in 2004.
