Nine years ago, Stevie Dupin (a.k.a. Stevie D.) found himself in a life-or-death struggle with prostate cancer, which, fortunately, he survived with the help of his doctors, the support of his family and his enduring sense of humor.
Actress Peri Gilpin and comedian and author Stevie Dupin (a.k.a. Stevie D.) are among performers lined up for the 15th annual production of "Les Girls," a star-studded, cabaret-style fundraiser to benefit the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (NBCC), to take place in Hollywood on Sunday, October 11.
BookExpo America (BEA), the biggest publishing event in North America, is underway now until May 31 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. Among authors and other celebrities in attendance is comedian Stevie Dupin (Stevie D.), who will sign copies of his new memoir “The Trans Am Diaries: A Hillbilly's Road Trip from Stand Up Comedy to Cancer…and Back Again” (Headline Books) on Thursday, May 29. The book is a humorous, occasionally serious, look at Dupin's life growing up in Kentucky, struggling in Hollywood and then coping with prostate cancer at a young age. Dupin held a launch party recently at Hemingway's Lounge in Hollywood.
He moved from the hills of Kentucky to the Hollywood Hills. Now, comedian Stevie D. (a.k.a. Stevie DuPin) brings his down-home style of humor to "The Stevie D. Show," a new talk show that explores the personal side of his celebrity guests, from the confines of the host's 'trailer home.'
