Balagan Theatre's next mainstage season will increase from four to five productions, featuring performances by Broadway actors Louis Hobson and Steven Taylor, and including two shows co-produced in partnership with Seattle Theatre Group at the historic Moore Theatre.The new season includes the world's longest-running musical, Les Miserables, produced in the intensely intimate setting of the Erickson Theatre on Capitol Hill; Carrie: The Musical, and more.

A new program is coming to town! Music Dance Theatre Workshops brings Broadway performers to Indianapolis to give personalized coaching and performance instruction to young actors in the central-Indiana arts community. All teaching artists are originally from the Midwest, most with ties to Indianapolis. These performers, many with Broadway credits, are excited to give back to the community that shaped them into the artists they have become today!

On Thursday, August 5, cast members from Disney's THE LION KING on Broadway celebrated the return of a wax replica of the beloved baboon shaman 'Rafiki' to Madame Tussauds. The figure, which was originally unveiled at Tussauds in 2006, is dressed in a replica of the original Rafiki costume designed by Julie Taymor, who won the Tony Award for Best Costume Design and Best Direction of a Musical for THE LION KING. The figure was created by Madame Tussauds Studio artists with the help of costume and makeup artists from the London production of THE LION KING.

The idea of families in Darfur being torn apart, wives from husbands, children from mothers, deeply moved Hollywood film producer Doug Claybourne ('Nights in Rodanthe,' 'North Country,' 'Fast and the Furious,' 'The Mask of Zorro') and playwright L.D. Napier. Knowing that women and children were being raped and brutally killed as they go for firewood each night, stopped them cold. They were forced to ask themselves a hard question - 'What can we do - just one individual?' The answer led Claybourne to put his 28 year producing career on hold and Napier to write a play.
