Virginia Stage Company (VSC) has announced the addition of a General Manger to its staff. This new position at VSC will be filled by Foster J. Billingsley, formerly the Executive Director of the Virginia Commission for the Arts. Billingsley brings over 20 years of experience in all aspects of professional theater and arts management, from Regional and Broadway Stage Manager to Company Manager to most recently his roles as Deputy Director and Executive Director at the Virginia Commission for the Arts, where he served for the past 14 years.

Jonathan Tolins, the author of Buyer & Cellar, will be a panelist on the Metropolitan Opera Quiz during the first intermission of this week's broadcast of Die Fledermaus. The new production of Strauss's operetta is performed in English with new dialogue by Broadway playwright Douglas Carter Beane, and features Tony Award winner Danny Burstein in the comic role of Frosch the jailer. This will be Tolins's second appearance on the Quiz after making his debut a year ago. Buyer & Cellar continues its record-breaking run at the Barrow Street Theatre off-Broadway and is currently selling tickets through April 13. The show will be produced later this year in Chicago, Los Angeles, and other cities to be announced.
After a sold out run at Roundabout Underground's Black Box Theatre, Joshua Harmon's hit comedy Bad Jews moved upstairs to the Laura Pels Theatre for our 2013-2014 Season. This production played a total of 100 performances from first preview on September 19 through the extended closing date of December 29. Original cast members Tracee Chimo, Philip Ettinger, Molly Ranson and Michael Zegen came back to our stage under the direction of Daniel Aukin.
