Daniel Day-Lewis to Receive BAFTA's Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award

Deadline reports that Daniel Day-Lewis will receive the British Academy Of Film And Television Arts' Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film. The actor will receive the award at the 2012 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards which will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on November 7.

Atlanta Symphony Announces October Concerts

Music Director Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will open the 2012-13 season this weekend, October 4 and 6, 2012, at 8:00 p.m., and October 7, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. Acclaimed violinist Midori will return to Atlanta for the Beethoven Violin Concerto. Also on the program will be Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. These concerts will mark the first performances of the Orchestra's 68th season.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will continue its Fall 2012 season with the return engagement of Tony Award-winning actress and singer BETTY BUCKLEY. In an exclusive four-week run, Ms. Buckley will premiere her new collection of songs "The Other Women: The Vixens of Broadway." She will perform highlights from some of Broadway's most popular shows, but will celebrate the second female leads, who have introduced classics like "When You're Good to Mama" (Chicago), Another Suitcase In Another Hall (Evita), "I Know Things Now (Into the Woods), "Ribbons Down My Back" (Hello, Dolly!), "Whatever Lola Wants" (Damn Yankees) and "The Miller's Son" (A Little Night Music). As BroadwayWorld previously reported the second season of SMASH will include a growing list of high-profile guest stars, including the just-announced Nikki Blonsky of Hairspray, as well as Jesse L. Martin, Jeremy Jordan, Sean Hayes and Jennifer Hudson. Now according to Vulture, Bernadette Peters, who guest starred last season as Ivy's (Megan Hilty) mom, will return in season two.
