SOUVENIR, SUDS, THE WOMEN and TRU Highlight Coyote Stage Works' Starry 4th Season, Beg. Today

Coyote StageWorks launches its fourth season on November 23 with the Tony-nominated comedy "Souvenir" and follows up with a season that consists of "a little something for everyone". For the second season in a row, all productions will be staged at the Annenberg Theatre which is located at The Palm Springs Museum Of Art in downtown Palm Springs. CSW's mission is to bring affordable, entertaining, and thought-provoking theatre to Palm Springs and the surrounding communities of the Coachella Valley and to create an Actors' Equity Theater of local, regional, and national influence.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the Globe's 15th annual production of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The holiday musical will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Nov. 17 - Dec. 29. Previews run from Nov. 17 - Nov. 23. Cabrillo Music Theatre Presents 1776, Now thru 10/28

The Tony Award-winning musical 1776 will make its Cabrillo Music Theatre and Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza debut from tonight, October 19 through Sunday, October 28. The musical about the writing of the Declaration of Independence brings the most significant moment in American history to life with wit, wisdom and humanity. The result is a musical theatre classic that will have audiences cheering for the creation of democracy.

Currently playing at the La Jolla Playhouse is The Nightingale, by the creative team behind the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening: Steven Sater (book and lyrics) and Duncan Sheik (music). Directed by Tony Award nominee Moises Kaufman (33 Variations, I Am My Own Wife), the production runs July 10 - August 5, 2012 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. The theatre recently held an open discussion about the color-blind casting of the show, which has gotten attention amoungst the Asian-American community. Artistic Director Sean Murray, Musical Director Billy Thompson and Choreographer David Brannen are tackling each artistic angle of the true story of the trial of Leo Frank, while the Cygnet staff is hard at working putting together multiple exciting special events designed to aid audiences' reflections and explore the themes found in the play.
