This event will celebrate ERS's success with Frances McDormand (Burn after Reading, Fargo), Lili Taylor ('Six Feet Under'), Fred Armisen ('Saturday Night Live'), Frankie Faison ('The Wire'), and ERS company members in a one night only performance of loved, banned and mythologized American fiction. Diane Paulus' landmark inaugural season as Artistic Director of American Repertory Theater (the A.R.T.) will come to a close with the world premiere of Johnny Baseball, The New Red Sox Musical (formerly called Red Sox Nation). The estate had previously blocked performances of GATZ, as the rights were held by the producers of the novel. Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of GATZ, presented by Elevator Repair Service and directed by John Collins at the American Repertory Theater. The staged reading of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel will include Jim Fletcher as Gatsby, Scott Shepherd as Nick, Victoria Vazquez as Daisy, and Gary Wilmes as Tom. The production will play the A.R.T. from January 7th to February 7th, 2010.
