WICKED Tour to Stop at The Smith Center in 2012-2013 Broadway Series

WICKED, the smash hit musical, will kick off The Smith Center for the Performing Arts' 2012-2013 Broadway-subscription series with a limited six-week engagement. After breaking box office records and selling out across the country, WICKED has added The Smith Center to its 2012-2013 tour, with performances scheduled for August 29 - October 7, 2012.

Broadway and Off-Broadway producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, The Producer's Perspective) will present Bingo! as the third selection in THE DAVENPORT DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES, four readings of new works (plays and/or musicals), on Monday, September 13th at Urban Stages Theater (259 West 30th Street, NYC): Ian Kennedy's Bingo! Directed by Daniel Goldstein.

BACKWARDS IN HIGH HEELS plays in Tucson at the Temple of Music and Art from September 10 through October 2. Weygandt Joins WICKED Tour in Boston, 9/14

The company of the first North American tour of WICKED welcomes Gene Weygandt as The Wizard on Tuesday, September 14 in Boston, MA. Weygandt, a WICKED veteran, has previously played The Wizard in Chicago and on Broadway. On Broadway, he created the role of Paul in big: The Musical and is a three-time recipient of Chicago's Jefferson Award. Mr. Weygandt's many film and TV credits include: The Birdcage, The Babe, 'The Beast,' 'Cybill,' 'Home Improvement,' 'Murphy Brown,' 'Drew Carey,' 'Ellen,' 'Coach' and 'USA High.'

Producing Artistic Director Carolyn Griffin is pleased to announce that MetroStage's 2010-11 season will open with the world premiere of Glimpses of the Moon, a Jazz Age musical based on a novel by Edith Wharton. The book and lyrics are written by Tajlei Levis and the composer is John Mercurio. Glimpses of the Moon will be in performance Sept. 8-Oct. 17.
