Variations Theatre Group is currently presenting Eric Bogosian's Pulitzer Prize-nominated play TALK RADIO. Opening Night is tomorrow, September 16th at the Chain Theatre. Inspired by the 1984 murder of controversial shock jock Alan Berg, TALK RADIO is set in a Cleveland radio station over the course of Barry Champlain's two-hour broadcast as he's being scrutinized that night by producers fixated on taking the show national, and fueled as always by coffee, cocaine and Jack Daniel's. Barry's jousts with his unseen callers-ranging from a white supremacist to a woman obsessed with her garbage disposal-are interspersed with confrontations by his ex-deejay pal and his sometime girlfriend/producer.

This is the first feature film screenplay by Stephen King adapted from one of his works in 25 years (last one: 'Pet Sematary' in 1989), and only the 4th one overall (the other two feature films: 'Cat's Eye” in 1985 and “Silver Bullet” in 1986).
