On April 8, 2016, at 8:00PM, The New York Pops took center stage at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage in The Music of John Williams: From Spielberg to Star Wars. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke lead the orchestra in a celebration of the work of legendary film composer John Williams, with a strong focus on his collaborations with Academy Award-winning director Steven Spielberg. The orchestra breathed life into some of cinema's most iconic scores, including selections from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jurassic Park. The concert also included a look at Williams' seminal scoring of the Star Wars films, from their beginnings in the 1970s to today's The Force Awakens. Today in 2007, The Pirate Queen opened at the Hilton Theatre (now the FoxwoodsTheatre), where it ran for 85 performances. The Pirate Queen is a musical written by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, best known for their adaptation of Les Miserables. It is based on the life and adventures of the 16th century Irish chieftain and pirate Grainne O'Malley, who was one of the last Irish clan leaders to resist the English conquest of Gaelic Ireland. The cast featured Stephanie J. Block as the title character and Linda Balgord, who was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I.

FALSETTOS begins previews Thursday, September 29, and opens on Thursday, October 27 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48 Street).

It is with great sorrow that the Board of Directors of Cabrillo Music Theatre announced today that it will suspend its productions at the conclusion of the 2015-2016 season, following the production of THE LITTLE MERMAID, running July 15-24, 2016.
