If there's anything everyone can agree on about 2016, it's that it was rough. As the contentious year comes to a close, many artists are turning to the holidays as a time to spread rejuvenation and hope. This week, the a cappella group #ChorusCalls, led by former Kinky Boots and Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark cast member Jake Odmark, released a cover of John Lennon's classic call for peace, War is Over.

"Both Irish, and transplanted writers, Emma Donoghue and Colm Toibin have taken historical moments and let the empathy of their imaginations and the curiosity of their research create stories of two unique women. Each of these writers has a film currently in release and based on their novels: Donoghue'sRoom, and Toibin's Brooklyn. These two films show the writers' incredible empathy for the ravages of the heart and the amazing power of love over adversity.' remarks Co-Artistic director Susan Harloe.

Producing Artistic Director Mark Cortale, now entering his fourth season at the helm of Provincetown's Art House Theater, has made the picturesque Cape Cod town a must-do stop on the itinerary of Broadway's brightest stars. Somehow, I think your normal GLEE-capper, Robert Lawlor, knew this was going to be a down week for GLEE when he asked me to pinch-hit for him (don't worry if you don't know what that means, it's a sports term). While I have been generally quite pleased with the majority of episodes over the last two seasons, this episode felt like a throwback to Season 2 or 3, where far too many episodes felt like simply filler. While they might have ultimately been entertaining, they primarily served as a placeholder until we got to the more plot-specific episodes. With Kurt's attack last week and Rachel's 'Funny Girl' opening a week away, this episode felt disappointingly like a very low-stakes buffer between the two.
