The Public Theater announced today that Tituss Burgess, John Ellison Conlee, Lili Cooper, Matt Doyle, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Greg Hildreth, Eli James, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Justin Levine, Norm Lewis, Betsy Morgan, Jessica Phillips, Bobby Steggert, and Katie Thompson will join the star-studded PUBLIC SINGS! benefit on Monday, March 5 at Joe's Pub. Long Wharf Theatre is uniting with the Public Theater in New York to produce February House, a new musical featuring the music of up-and-comer Gabriel Kahane. The musical will bow on Stage II February 15 through March 18. The press opening is Wednesday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $45-$65.

Transport Group,'s 2011 Gimme A Break! benefit honored playwright Douglas Carter Beane and composer/lyricist Lewis Flinn last night, December 5 at the Asia Society and Museum. Gimme A Break! began with a cocktail reception followed by a performance featuring Broadway stars sharing their 'big break' experiences through stories and songs. The musical was originally scheduled to close Sunday, November 20.

The production was created by Michael John LaChiusa and directed by Jack Cummings III and choreographed by Scott Rink.

Queen of the Mist is a world premiere musical with words and music by 5-time Tony nominee Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Marie Christine, Hello Again). Based on an astounding, outrageous, and haunting true story, two-time Tony nominee Mary Testa (Guys and Dolls, Xanadu, 42nd Street) stars as Anna Edson Taylor, who, in 1901, set out to be the first woman to shoot Niagara Falls, in a barrel of her own design. Navigating both the treacherous Falls and a fickle public with a ravenous appetite for sensationalism, this unconventional heroine vies for her legacy in a world clamoring with swindling managers, assassins, revolutionaries, moralizing family, anarchists and activists. Convinced that there is greatness in her and determined not to live as ordinary, she sets out to battle her fear and tempt her fate.
The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company opened the world premiere of Saint-Ex, a dazzling new musical about the life of author/aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (The Little Prince) last week, but because of flooding from Hurrican Irene, the production has been temporarily shut down. The theatre's website states: 'The Weston Playhouse has sustained damage from 5 feet of water which flooded the ground floor. ? The Theatre Company is formulating plans to reopen its production of Saint-Ex.'
The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Saint-Ex, a dazzling new musical about the life of author/aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (The Little Prince). The work of author Sean Barry and composer Jenny Giering, Saint-Ex is directed by Kent Nicholson with a cast that includes Broadway veterans Alexander Gemignani, Krysta Rodriguez and Cass Morgan. Thanks to unprecedented support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Alliance for Musical Theatre's Fund for New Musicals, the Vermont Arts Council, the Vermont Community Foundation, and sponsorship from The Vermont Country Store, Saint-Ex will appear on the Weston MainStage from August 25 through September 10, including a week of special daytime matinee performances for area schools.
