Park Avenue Armory announced today that the Thompson Family Foundation has given $65 million to kick-start a programming endowment that will allow the Armory to expand the range and number of groundbreaking works in the performing and visual arts it presents, as well as the scale and reach of its arts education initiatives for underserved public school students.

Berkshire Theatre Group and Artistic Director/CEO, Kate Maguire, are pleased to announce the addition of Jane's Cafe, located inside the Fitzpatrick Main Stage lobby with intimate seating for up to 36 in the back of the orchestra. Jane's Cafe, named after Jane Fitzpatrick, will be catered by The Red Lion Inn. The menu, created by The Red Lion Inn's Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage, Brian Alberg, includes handcrafted sandwiches, salads and sweets. Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune runs from Wednesday, July 29 to Saturday, August 22 at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage.

The new state of the art fixtures were funded by a DCAS program known as Expenses for Conservation & Efficiency Leadership (ExCEL) and were designed and manufactured by ICON International in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Installed by NYC Parks electricians over three weeks this spring, the new lighting gives a warm ambient glow to the arch, while highlighting the sculptural ornamentation by Frederick MacMonnies, Philip Martiny and the Piccirilli Brothers, as well as the statues of Washington as Commander-in-Chief and President, by Hermon Atkins MacNeil and Alexander Stirling Calder.
