»Ragtime« zahlt mit seinen bittersußen Geschichten aus dem New Yorker Leben, den vielen historischen Figuren - von Henry Ford bis Harry Houdini - und seinem unwiderstehlichen musikalischen Charme zu den ganz großen Broadway-Musicals. Der Erfolg 1998 in New York war immens und bescherte Komponist Stephen Flaherty und Buchautor Terrence McNally jeweils eine der begehrten Tony-Awards. Nach weiteren Erfolgen in London, Washington und abermals am Broadway erreicht »Ragtime« nun am Staatstheater Braunschweig endlich auch das europaische Festland. Die Premiere findet am 18. September 2015 statt, weitere Vorstellungen laufen bis Januar 2016.

The menu, created by The Red Lion Inn's Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage, Brian Alberg, includes handcrafted sandwiches, salads and sweets. The new state of the art fixtures were funded by a DCAS program known as Expenses for Conservation & Efficiency Leadership (ExCEL) and were designed and manufactured by ICON International in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Installed by NYC Parks electricians over three weeks this spring, the new lighting gives a warm ambient glow to the arch, while highlighting the sculptural ornamentation by Frederick MacMonnies, Philip Martiny and the Piccirilli Brothers, as well as the statues of Washington as Commander-in-Chief and President, by Hermon Atkins MacNeil and Alexander Stirling Calder.

Berkshire Theatre Group welcomes BTG Board Member Gary Scarafoni and wife Carol Scarafoni's gift to the organization of a historic bench from Pittsfield's Union Station (now the Joseph Scelsi Intermodal Transportation Center). The bench, which was restored by Taconic High School, will be placed inside the lobby of The Colonial Theatre.
