The Harbor Stage Company, Cape Cod's artist-run theater by the sea, is very proud to welcome back the visionary writer, director, and tastemaker Brendan Hughes, for a one-night only presentation of his comic lecture, The Pizzicato Effect. Equal parts TED Talk, stand-up routine, and 21st-century tilting at windmills, the lecture deploys visual diagrams, intangible theories, and preposterous arcana in what Hughes describers as "a valiant attempt to double-click on the Universe".

The Harbor Stage Company continues its 5th season with the World Premiere of an original comedy by Harbor co-founder Brenda Withers. Set in an imagined province of 19th century Russia, The Kritik tells the story of a small-town writer struggling to turn in his first honest review. Originally commissioned by the Professional Actors Training Program at UNC Chapel Hill, the faux-period piece offers a spirited look at candor, corruption, and community.

In commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 70th Anniversary of World War II, Goethe-Institut Boston's German Stage, in association with the Austrian Cultural Forum New York and Israeli Stage, presents the American Premiere of A CASE NAMED FREUD in five locations this week. The opening night staged reading marked the tenth German Stage production since 2012 and provided a backdrop to the farewell for Goethe-Institut Director Detlef Gericke who has served in Boston for six years.

Harbor Stage Company Adds Three Performances of SISTER PLAY
