Broadway In Chicago has announced "FOR THE RECORD: DEAR JOHN HUGHES," an immersive, concert event showcasing the works of beloved Chicago native John Hughes, will play the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut) for a limited engagement March 5 - March 15, 2015.

For the last few years the uber talented Lythgoe family have been entertaining us at Christmastime, first at the El Portal in NoHo and now at the Pasadena Playhouse with a British style panto. A panto is an interactive entertainment that starts with a very contemporary retelling of a fairy tale such as Snow White, Cinderella, or in this case Sleeping Beauty and turns it into a fun imaginative show with music that will appeal to both children and their parents. There's usually an actor in drag (outrageous David Engel as Nanny Tickle, Aurora's nanny), a villain or villainess (Lucy Lawless as Carabosse))... and audience are encouraged to root for the heroes and HISS loudly at the villains. It's been rumored since early in the new production's run -- and now it's official! Original star John Cameron Mitchell will return to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and The Angry Inch, which they debuted in the 1998 hit Off-Broadway production. Mitchell will step into the role on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre starting Wednesday, January 21 for a strictly limited eight week engagement. Mitchell will join co-star and Tony Award winner Lena Hall who continues with the production as Yitzhak.
Golden Globe and Drama Desk Award winner Michael C. Hall has extended his limited engagement in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Hall will play his final performance in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival on Sunday, January 18. Casting for the next Hedwig will be announced in the coming weeks.
