Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that the Tony Award-winning hit Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter, will expand across America and the world in 2015. The West End production of Beautiful will begin previews on February 10, 2015 in the West End at London's Aldwych Theatre, with an official opening night set for February 25, 2015. The First American National Tour of Beautiful will launch in September 2015, beginning at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) in Providence, Rhode Island (September 15-20, 2015); a 12-week limited engagement at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago, IL (December 1, 2015 - February 21, 2016); and will play the Hollywood Pantages in Los Angeles, CA; DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham, NC in October 2015; and Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, NC, among other cities across the country.
Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF dares audiences to take a risk on new plays at PlayFest from November 1 - 3, 2014. Azuka Theatre kicks off its 15th season with the Philadelphia Premiere of a 2014 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, continues with a World Premiere by the theatre's current playwright in residence, and closes with another Philadelphia Premiere. We offer classes in Mini-Musical Theater, for the little ones (ages 5 & 6), taught by Lauren DeCloux on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:20. In this fun and exciting class students will be introduced to various theatre games and performing on all levels. Students will learn valuable acting techniques and have the opportunity to do a lot of singing and dancing as well! The students will perform in a mini musical on the Leddy Center stage at the end of the session.
