Celebrated Jazz Saxophonist Boney James Returns To The Southern

Named by Billboard as one of the top three contemporary jazz artists of the decade in 2009, four-time Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum R&B/jazz saxophonist, songwriter, and producer Boney James is touring in support of his 16th album, Honestly (2017).

John Minnock Comes to Feinstein's/54 Below

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents fan-favorite vocalist John Minnock! For his Feinstein's/54 Below debut, the new-breed vocalist will celebrate the release of his new album Right Around The Corner. On his newest project, John presents jazz, blues and cabaret classics in a way that has never been heard before with the help of special guest, National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Dave Liebman on saxophone. John's experiences as an openly gay man gives way to a unique perspective that is at once eye-opening, touching and down right fun. Supported by a stellar rhythm section including pianist/arranger Enrique Hanenine (whose latest album The Mind's Mural hit #1 on the NACC Radio Chart) bassist Carlos Mena and drummer Pablo Eluchans, John's new 'gay-ahead jazz album' is a groundbreaker as it explores LGBTQ subject-matter in a jazz setting.

Carol Welsmen Comes to Festival Place

For her latest album, For You, Canadian Jazz vocalist and pianist Carol Welsmen turned to her fans on social media to help select the tracks. The result is an intimate affair, spanning songs in multiple languages including Spanish ("Besame Mucho"), French ("Les Feuilles Mortes") and Italian ("Ti Guardero Nel Cuor"). Material is also drawn from the Great American Songbook, and Welsman takes to classics like "Skylark," "The Shadow of Your Smile" and "My Funny Valentine" from angles of adoration and invention.
