The Siti Company, an ensemble based theatre company created by Anne Bogart and Tadashi Suzuki, is famous for its combination of Viewpoints and Suzuki, two very different acting trainings that focus on movement and gesture, and concentration and strength, respectively. This weekend, their production of Trojan Women, which utilized both acting techniques, came to ArtsEmerson, and audiences poured in after a very exhausting week here in the city.

Channeling a little bit of horror, a little bit of fear, The Other Theatre returns to its creative roots with a new collective work inspired by the weirdness of H.P. Lovecraft, directed by Stacey Christodoulou. Playing in English and French at Bain St. Michel from tonight, April 16-20, in collaboration with Infinitheatre.
The New York premiere of THE GOLDEN DRAGON, presented by the OBIE Award-winning The Play Company (WORKING ON A SPECIAL DAY, INVASION!), is written by acclaimed German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig and translated by David Tushingham. THE GOLDEN DRAGON is directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar (THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES, RESTORATION COMEDY), renowned for whimsical invite-only theater company, Exit, Pursued by a Bear. THE GOLDEN DRAGON will be performed at The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street in the West Village) from Wednesday, May 8th through Sunday, June 9th, 2013. Spring season performances include three world premieres commissioned for Rite 100 including new works from Vijay Iyer, Basil Twist and Nacho Duato; a U.S. premiere from Nederlands Dans Theater 1; and a rare chance to see Martha Graham's groundbreaking version of The Rite of Spring.

Russia's profound and far-reaching impact on 20th-century culture will be explored at the 2013 annual Bard SummerScape festival, which once again offers an extraordinary summer of music, opera, theater, dance, film, and cabaret, keyed to the theme of the 24th annual Bard Music Festival, Stravinsky and His World. Presented in the striking Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts and other venues on Bard College's bucolic Hudson River campus, the seven-week festival opens on July 6 with the first of two performances of A Rite (2013) by the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and SITI Company, and closes on August 18 with a party in Bard's beloved Spiegeltent, which returns for the full seven weeks. Complementing the Bard Music Festival's exploration of “Stravinsky and His World,” some of the great Russian-born composer's most captivating compatriots provide key SummerScape highlights. These include the first fully-staged American production of Sergey Taneyev's opera Oresteia; the world premiere of an original stage adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's seminal novel The Master and Margarita; and a film festival titled “Between Traditions: Stravinsky's Legacy and Russian Emigré Cinema.” Together, SummerScape's offerings will continue Bard's yearlong tenth-anniversary celebrations for the Frank Gehry-designed Fisher Center, which commence with a month of special performances in April.
