Death Takes a Holiday opened on July 21st at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre, with Kevin Earley in the role of 'Death.' Earley has been performing the role in the Roundabout Theatre Company show since Julian Ovenden's departure on July 19th due to laryngitis.

Roundabout Theatre Company opened Death Takes a Holiday last night, July 21, 2011 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. As reported yesterday, leading man Julian Ovenden was unable take part in the opening because of a case of laryngitis. His understdy, Kevin Earley, stepped in to play the role of Prince Sirki/Death. Death Takes a Holiday will play a limited engagement through September 4, 2011. This production marks the second time a new musical has been presented in this theatrical space, following the recent production of The Tin Pan Alley Rag.

The critically-acclaimed company dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit will offer Mainstage productions of Children by A.R. Gurney, and Lost in Yonkers by Neil Simon at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row.

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre announced today that it has appointed Company Member and Associate Producer Jenn Thompson as new Co-Artistic Director. Simon Jones, Co-Artistic Director since 1999, is stepping down from the position after 12 years of service to TACT, although he will remain an involved Company Member.

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw presented GETTING MARRIED last night, June 20 at The Players. The production starred Reed Birney, Jordan Coughtry, Sue Cremin, David Furr, Cady Huffman, Simon Jones, Andrea Marcovicci, Emily Skinner, Steven Skybell, Robert Stanton, Lindsay Torrey, Lenny Wolpe and was narrated by Michael Musto of The Village Voice.
