Internationally-recognized spoken word artist Mayda del Valle headlines the first event in Mesa Arts Center's Spoken World series, a fusion of dynamic spoken word artists with mixed media and live instrumentation. Joining del Valle tonight Oct. 17 at 7:30 pm.

Pittsburgh Symphony President and Chief Executive Officer, James A. Wilkinson, has announced that he will retire during 2015. The symphony will launch an immediate search for his successor, and Wilkinson will remain in the position until that person is hired. Once a successor has been named, Wilkinson will become Senior Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Simmons College has announced the keynote speakers for its April 2, 2015 premier Simmons Leadership Conference. Focusing on the theme 'Dare to Compete,' the conference features Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, author and columnist Arianna Huffington, and Cisco Chief Technology and Strategy Officer Padmasree Warrior.
