Now in its 100th Season, National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene [NYTF] extends its reach to the next generation of culture mavens with Hava Tequila Nights, the new late-night cabaret series that showcases an eclectic variety of contemporary Jewish Entertainers, debuting tonight, October 22, 9PM, at The Triad Theater/Stage72.

Billed as a borscht belt floor show for the 21st Century, each Hava Tequila Nights consists of featured acts, preceded and followed by the comedic stylings of series' host, performer and- vaudevillian-extraordinaire Shane Baker. Born in Kansas City and raised in an Episcopalian household, Baker is one of the country's leading Yiddishists, whose unique profile in Jewish Culture has made major news headlines.

Performing October 22 are Vanessa Hidary AKA The Hebrew Mamita, the hip hop inspired spoken word artist and star of HBO's Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry Jam joined by Israeli vocalist Shlomit Levi, who together with Jewish Roots musician RebbeSoul, present infectious grooves in a unique blend of world music with a distinct Yemenite spice.

The series is presented in partnership with Congress for Jewish Culture, Taglit Birthright Alumni, Young Friends of The Museum of Jewish Heritage: A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, Ezra USA and JDC Entwine and sponsored by Joe Cooper in honor of Gittel Cooper.
