Kimber Lee's drama tokyo fish story, directed by May Adrales, begins today, May 28 at The Old Globe. The production runs through June 26, 2016, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

'Woody - A New Fairytale' will be given an industry reading at Signature Theatre this Tuesday, May 31st. The reading will feature a cast of 13 starring:

Broadway's smash hit musical comedy Something Rotten! will welcome three new principal cast members beginning Monday, July 18 as the ten-time Tony Award-nominated show enters its second year at Broadway's St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street).

Paul Barnes, co-founder and former producing and artistic director of Minnesota's Great River Shakespeare Festival, directs a workshop production of Michael Raver's play, Fire on Babylon at The Wild Project as part of the 2016 Fresh Fruit Festival. The play features Jeffrey Hayenga (Roundabout's The Importance of Being Earnest) and playwright Raver (How We Built the Bomb) Set and Prop Design by Marc Wheeler, Costumes by Edward Ray Kiely and Lighting Design by Mike Billings.

Signature Theatre has announced a one week extension for Signature Plays, which revisits the work of three Legacy playwrights with Edward Albee's The Sandbox, Maria Irene Fornes' Drowning, and Adrienne Kennedy's Funnyhouse of a Negro. Directed by Lila Neugebauer (A.R. Gurney's The Wayside Motor Inn), this trio of plays, all produced during their author's original Playwright-in-Residence season and presented together for the first time, celebrates Signature's rich and diverse history over the past quarter century.

The 7th Annual Lilly Awards Ceremony, which celebrates women of distinction in the American Theater, were presented yesterday, May 23, at the Signature Theatre (480 West 42nd St). This year's honorees included: Tony Award-winner and 2016 Tony Award nominee Jessie Mueller,Kathy Najimy, Genne Murphy, Candis Jones,Rehana Lew Mirza, the women of Waking the Feminists, Danai Gurira, Martha Plimpton, Kate Whoriskey, and Mia Katigbak.

Signature Theatre presents a program of one-acts by Edward Albee, Maria Irene Fornes and Adrienne Kennedy.

Constellation Theatre's adult puppet musical Avenue Q swept the 32nd annual Helen Hayes Awards honoring professional theater in Washington, D.C., on Monday with seven awards including outstanding musical.

Tonight, before a gathering of theatre artists and patrons, theatreWashington announced the winners of the 2016 Helen Hayes Awards, drawn from 202 eligible productions presented in the 2015 calendar year. Scroll down for the full list of nominees and winners!

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) are thrilled to announce the winners of the 61st Annual Obie Awards. Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj, produced by the Atlantic Theater Company, received the Obie Award® for Best New American Play, which is accompanied by a $1,000 prize. Legendary actor/dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade and renowned playwright A.R. Gurney each received a special Obie Award® for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street). Signature Theatre will soon stage La Cage aux Folles, directed and choreographed by Signature Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner. With an iconic score by Jerry Herman(Hello, Dolly; Mame), featuring 'I Am What I Am' and 'The Best of Times,' and a book by Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots, Newsies), this musical comedy will run from May 31 - July 10 inSignature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre.

Broadwayworld.com interviewed Barbara Andres about her career and upcoming performance in 'I Remember Mama' at Two River Theater. Directed by Jack Cummings III, the show will be on the Red Bank stage from Saturday, June 4th to Sunday, June 26th.

The evening will feature works by up-and-coming musical theater composer/lyricist Adam Wachter, including original songs from his musicals Tarrytown and Zionsville, along with other favorites and new material written specifically for this night, all performed by a starry group of his obscenely talented, generous, and attention-hungry Broadway- and Television-star friends who have since all defected to the West Coast.
