Actors' Equity Association today named It Shoulda Been You recipient of the 'Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway' Award for the 2014-15 theatrical season. Presented by Equity's National Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Committee, the award honors shows that exemplify and promote the union's founding principles of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre. Accepting the award on behalf of the It Shoulda Been You producers and creative team was producer Daryl Roth. Also in attendance were cast members Edward Hibbert and Jillian Louis, director David Hyde Pierce, composer Barbara Anselmi, co-lyricist and librettist Brian Hargrove and the production's stage management team: Bess Marie Glorioso, Katherine Shea and Melanie Morgan.

Musical theatre composer/ lyricist and pop songwriter Michael Mott will offer an intimate concert of his pop, R&B and soul music on Monday, September 21 at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. He will be joined by singers from 'American Idol' and 'The Voice."

On October 9, 2015 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, will open its 33rd season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The concert honors the duo's timeless work, which has captured the hearts of every generation of music lovers, and will feature guest artists Sierra Boggess and Steven Pasquale. The program will feature numbers from all eleven of the collaborations between Rodgers and Hammerstein. Selections will include 'A Wonderful Guy' and 'Some Enchanted Evening' from South Pacific, 'The Sound of Music' from The Sound of Music, and 'Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' from Oklahoma!.

Today in 2009, The Little Mermaid closed at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, where it ran for 685 performances. The Little Mermaid is based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. The musical's book is by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman (written for the film) and new lyrics by Glenn Slater. Andrew Lloyd Webber's newest musical, School of Rock, is starting the process of moving into the Winter Garden Theatre- the same theatre that Lloyd Webber's first long-running Broadway hit, CATS played. BroadwayWorld has learned that veteran Hollywood producers-entrepreneurs, Elie Samaha and Donald Kushner, are re-launching the much ballyhooed BROADWAY 4D film project and attraction, which was put on a hold a year ago by its original producers.

The Phantom of the Opera is not only the longest running musical in Broadway history, but also one of the most successful shows internationally. In 2010, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber premiered a sequel of the musical London's West End with such stars as Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo. LOVE NEVER DIES, which has since successfully played in Australia (where it was filmed and released on DVD), Denmark and Japan, and will tour in the US in 2017, is now coming to the stage in Germany. Following the celebrated success of the return of Phantom of The Opera last year, Stage Entertainment will produce the fascinating sequel this fall. The show will begin preview at the Stage Operettenhaus in in Hamburg on October 8, with an official opening set for October 16.
