OWN to Honor Civil Rights Legends This January

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today a month-long celebration in January honoring civil rights legends who paved the way as we approach the 50th anniversary of the historic Selma to Montgomery marches led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that changed the trajectory of America forever.

LA Theatre Works Brings IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT to Harris Center Tonight

L.A. Theatre Works brings their riveting stage adaptation of this classic American film dealing with racial prejudice to Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom. The play demonstrates the slow evolution of attitudes, but leaves the characters, and America, with a long way to go. This presentation is a special event commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Showtime Developing IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT Remake

According to Variety, Showtime is currently at work on developing a small screen remake of the hit 1967 drama IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT with THE HELP's Tate Taylor. Warren Littlefield and MGM TV are also on board.
