A-lee Lulee Productions presents the world premiere of sugar happens: a one girl show by Emmy Award-winner Sherry Coben (CBS's 'Kate and Allie' and NBC's 'Hot Hero Sandwich' with Richard Pryor) and starring Rachel Bailit (Henry Jaglom's Festival in Cannes).

The 2010 Festival of New American Musicals, a three month musical theatre festival, will be held May 16 through August 21 2010, throughout Southern California. Marcia Seligson, Bob Klein, and Linda Shusett are the Executive Producers of the annual festival, now in its third year.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced two additional productions as part of the 2010-2011 theatrical season. Cherry Jones will be starring in George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession, directed by Doug Hughes. Olympia Dukakis will star in Tennessee Williams' The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore, directed by Michael Wilson.

On Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 27, BC/EFA hosted the 24th ANNUAL EASTER BONNET COMPETITION. This year, the competition raised an impressive $3,265,700 by the 64 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway, and National Tour companies benefiting Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS. Since it began in 1987, the 23 editions of the EASTER BONNET COMPETITION have raised over $42 million for BC/EFA. Berkeley's acclaimed Aurora Theatre Company, now celebrating its 18th season, lit up the night on Monday, May 3 with an evening of heavenly wining and dining at Aurora Borealis, the company's 12th annual benefit, held at the newly-renovated historic Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley. Over 200 guests attended the sold-out fundraising fête, chaired by Deborah Goodman, which raised upwards of $180,000. Funds raised at the gala event will support Aurora Theatre Company's outstanding live performances, innovative education program, and the Global Age Project new works program.

The Women Playwrights Festival was founded in 1998 to nurture and support the work of women playwrights. Working in partnership with major regional theatres, the festival selects playwrights from a group of highly accomplished writers nominated by a national committee, presents public readings of the playwrights' latest work, and then invites the writers to a residency at Hedgebrook for further work on their new plays.

Theatre Charlotte Presents a one day acting workshop for preteens, teens and adults, Saturday, May 1 from 12-4 pm. Taught by audition coach and Director, Helen Kearney Konen, the workshop will feature lessons on script interpretation, as well as characterization for scenes and commercials.
