No need to travel to New York's central theatre district. The songs from Broadway's Tony Award-winning musicals are as close as Northwestern University's Evanston campus this summer.

If I were delusional enough to think my scribblings could turn an unknown into a star overnight, then I'd be writing these words fully confident that by tomorrow morning every Broadway producer in town would want to sign a young musical comedy actress named Oakley Boycott.  Yes, Oakley Boycott is her actual name and as a performer she's as unique as her moniker.  I first saw her two years ago at one of Town Hall's Broadway's Rising Stars concerts, where she floored the place as a rhythmically-challenged singer awkwardly pounding her way through John Kroner's 'Where's The Beat.'  Since then it seems her New York appearances have been limited to Scott Siegel's Town Hall concerts and doing concert musicals for Mel Miller's Musicals Tonight!

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post will continue its Summer 2011 season with a specially-priced CD release event for Tony Award nominated Broadway star KATE BALDWIN to launch her new PS Classics CD She Loves Him: Live at Feinstein's on Thursday, July 14 at 8:30 PM.

92nd Street Y announces the 2012 line-up for Lyrics & LyricistsTM, 92Y's celebrated American Songbook series, with DEBORAH GRACE WINER at the helm for her fourth season as series artistic director. Ted Mozino productions LLC and the Midtown International Theatre Festival are pleased to announce the New York City premiere production of BOOMERS, directed by Gerald vanHeerden and choreographed by Kevin Ferguson. The Kleban Foundation awarded the 21st Annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has gone to Adam Gwon and the award for the most promising musical theatre librettist has gone to Michelle Elliott. The 2011 awards were presented on June 27, 2011, in a private ceremony at ASCAP.

SOUTH PACIFIC star Kelli O'Hara will release her second solo album under the Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight label. The album, entitled Always, features 13 tracks consisting of a collection of Broadway favorites from MY FAIR LADY and SOUTH PACIFIC, as well as songs by Irving Berlin and Ricky Ian Gordon among others. The album is set to be release May 31, 2011.
